TADD-TOWCEsfER AREA DOOR TO DOOR- 2020 to 2021
OBJECTIVES.
TADD was created In the earty 1980.5. when the County Council Mlentified that public transport was
either unavailable or inappropriate for residents to ac￿5$ their medically related appointments.
Our website www.towcesterareadoor2door.co.uk lists the villageslcommunities we Serve together
wtth our price lists.
A pool of DBS approved voluntary drivers continw to provide traTr5POrt for our members to and
from their medically related appointments.
Our aim is to have sufficient w)luntsry drivers available in each Willage to meet their needs.
PERFORMANCE
By the end of March 2020 Lockdown reStriC￿n$ reduced our wol of 119 Voluntsry drivers to 20
who felt comfortable continuing using their own vehicles taking members medical appointment5.
Transport for our member5 to attend their medical appointments was available every day during
2021>21.
During the first kxkdown ￿ retumed all the telep*￿ calls our members made to our Office.
Some years ago. TADD decided to bring all aspects of the service together SO Ft could be operated
without anyone having to enter the office. This proved invaluable. in 2020121. enabling TADD to
make a retum telephone call to those members who had contarted TADD during the day. Being able
to view each person records before and duri￿ the call also overtame their reservations about
telephone call from a mobile telephone.
We continued to recrutt new voluntary dTivers throu8lM)Ut the year.
In De￿mber 2020 we stsrted to specitslly recruit volunteers to tske residents for their
Vaccinations. 104 voluntary dfrwers during 202(￿21 provided transport of TADD members159 were
new drivers 25 were existing drivers who had self-isolated in March}

With so many members over the age of 85 years it is im￿rtant our main contact with them is stlll
via the telephone and we have a contact log recording mernber with Date/time of call which we can
acces5 Without having to physicalty to be in the Offte. The Website & Email ensure family members,
their friends & neehbours can provide infomiation at any tirne theywi5h ratherthan being
restricted to the 20 hours day Tftfftk our Offi￿ is usualty open.
Our"FacebooV activities have encouraged an increased awareness of the seplice across all the
Villa8eslCommunities and also those using immediately or a time of their own Choi￿ rather being
restricted to the 20 kK)urs per week our office is physically open.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
For the first time for over a decade TADD has operated at a slight loss arml rfthe funding remains
unchanged for the 9 consecutive year. then we will tontinue to operate at a1055 in 2021122
The Trustees will continue to decide in Febn￿ry. rfourfunding will be adequate Ixfore asking our
members to renew their membership for 2021122.
Our currerrt reserves allow us to make thts possible for 2021-22. Thry will also provide some latitude
should we need to ernploy odditional paid stsff in the event of ourvoluntsry system becoming
untenable.
