Para 1.17 and 1.19 |
In the financial period, Streets of London provided £150,000 in extra funding to registered charities working to support homeless people in London. The charity made grants to fund the following 10 projects: • Street outreach(£15,000 grant) -Seeking out people sleeping rough and helping them to access homeless support services nearby • Drop-in centre(£15,000 grant) -Meeting people's immediate needs (eg hot food, a shower, clean clothes, medical attention) and providing advice services (including help with finding emergency accommodation) • Employment support(£15,000 grant) -Helping homeless people back into jobs, volunteering, training and education; career coaching & wide- ranging support • Hospitality training programme(£15,000 grant) -Personalised and professional hospitality & catering training, on a supported, structured three-month course • One-to-one support(£15,000 grant) - Personalised one-to-one support from case workers (housing advice, support around alcohol and substance use, mental health) • Progression coaching(£15,000 grant) - Supported volunteering & employment for ex- homeless(one-to-onepersonal coaching for |
| formerly-homeless volunteers accompanying people who are currently homeless to hospital appointments) • Mental health support for homeless young people(£15,000 grant) -Psychological support for homeless young hostel residents (person- centred counselling) • 24/7 crisis centre for homeless women (£15,000 grant) -A safe and welcoming space for homeless women • Housing & tenancy support(£15,000 grant) - Help to access and sustain accommodation & develop independent living • Migrant support(£15,000 grant) -Specialist advice for complex immigration cases In addition to making these grants, Streets of London helps to raise public awareness about homelessness, with the aim of motivating more people to donate money to, raise money for and/or volunteer with charities that support homeless people, and to engender increased empathy for the plight of people experiencing homelessness. We do this by distributing information at our events and making information about homelessness available on our website. Further to this, the charity has high-profile ambassadors who publicly express their support for the cause and put across some of the key messages about the issue. |

| Contribution made by volunteers |
The charity very much appreciates, and would like to publicly acknowledge, the contribution made by its volunteers. During the financial period, volunteers contributed their time by stewarding at the Streets of London Night Walk in July 2023 and at the Streets of London Sleep-Out in October 2023. Additionally, a number of other volunteers supported Streets of London by giving their time and help at other points during the year, supporting the charity’s work in a number of different ways. |

Achievements and Performance

| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | IMPACT OF GRANTS During the financial period, the charity made grants totalling £150,000 to charities working to support homeless people in London, thereby having a significant positive impact on the lives of many people who have become homeless. #COMEONHOME PRIZE DRAW 2023 Big names, special music prizes, helping homeless people. Streets of London's #ComeOnHome prize draw in May 2023 raised nearly £60,000 to provide vital immediate help for people experiencing homelessness, as well as longer-term support so that people can escape the streets for good. More than 3,000 people entered the draws, which featured some incredible prizes from artists including Arctic Monkeys, Bastille, Coldplay, Duran Duran, Florence + The Machine, Frank Turner, Freya Ridings, Lewis Capaldi, Mark Knopfler, Paul McCartney, Stormzy, The Vaccines and The 1975. Among the amazing prizes on offer were a trip to New York to see Bastille, a trip to Las Vegas to see Duran Duran, a Gibson Les Paul guitar signed by Streets of London ambassador Mark Knopfler, a Revolver super deluxe boxset signed by Sir Paul McCartney, a chance to meet Coldplay and many more. NIGHT WALK 2023 150 people signed up for Streets of London’s first night walk in July 2023. The event was a great success, with each person who took part fundraising in support of the charity. Participants walked through central London on a 10-mile route that included many of the capital's best-known sights including Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, the |
Houses of Parliament and Shakespeare's Globe. SLEEP-OUT 2023 More than 180 people registered for the Streets of London Sleep-Out in October 2023 and raised an amazing £50,000+ between them! The charity’s annual sleep-out is an excellent fundraising opportunity and also a great awareness-raiser about the cause. As well as helping to fund homelessness projects through their fundraising, people taking part experience (safely) some of the challenges that homeless people have to face every night. It’s nothing like the reality of being homeless of course, but it’s an eye-opener, an act of solidarity and a great tangible way people can get involved. CORPORATE SUPPORT We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge with gratitude the corporate support the charity was lucky enough to receive during the year from a number of valued partners. INDIVIDUALS FUNDRAISING A big thank you to all the individual fundraisers who supported the charity during the year by taking on various challenges to raise money in support of people experiencing homelessness in the capital.

Financial Review

| Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period |
Para 1.21 | At the end of the financial period, the charity held cash at the bank of £83,676, of which £69,429 was unrestricted funding. |
| Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held |
Para 1.22 | Streets of London aims to hold at least £5,000 in reserves at the year end, in order to meet any unforeseen costs and cover expenditure that may be required. In addition to this, in financial years where a significantly high level of funds has been raised, Streets of London aims to reserve a proportion of the funds after making grants, to safeguard the charity’s ability to maintain the level of grants to homelessness projects in future years, in the event that future income is lower in some years. Reserving funds in this way results in being able to provide a more reliable, consistent level of project funding from year to year. |
