Trustees Report For The Year Ended 31st August 2021

The trustees of the charity present annual report for the financial statements of the year ended 31 August 2021.

Objective of the Charity:

Deserving Children Africa is a small Christian Charity which was established in 2011 to provide a meal a day for some of the most destitute children at Nakeel primary school in Nairobi Kenya. In this respect, the Charity has regard to the Charity Commissioner’s general guidance on public benefit.

Development During this period

Child feeding Programme.

The feeding programme continued to provide one meal a day to the Children of Nakeel Primary school at a cost of £5.00 per child for a month.

The feeding Centre is run by the established American Christian Charity Vicodec.

The head teacher has identified 500 children between the age of 5 and 13 years who need assistance.

School Fees Programme

The Charity aims to sponsor older children to go on to higher education after they leave primary school at 13. We are currently able to sponsor 110 children from the feeding programme on to secondary school with that number expected to go higher by each year.

Fundraising and Events

The Charity has organised a number of Fundraising activities during the year. These includes – Membership/subscriptions, Book sales, boot sales, morning tea sale, dinner event etc.

They continue to have strong links with St. Andrews and St Paul’s Church Slough.

Organisation

Deserving Children Africa was incorporated as a company by guarantee in August 2011. It was established and registered as a Charity on 31[st] December 2013.

The trustees are also Company directors. None has any beneficial interest in the company, all are members and each one guarantees to contribute £10 in event of winding up.
