The principal activity is The Meeting Point, a community hub run in Backwell, where people can meet to socialise, access a range of services and support and where small groups can gather. A range of information and service contacts is available. There is also internet access and vouchers for Clevedon Foodbank. The charity hosts groups including chair yoga, computer confidence club and knitting group. A twice-monthly lunch club is provided, mainly for elderly residents, and mother and toddler / primary aged child activities are provided during school holidays. The charity facilitates improvement courses and publicises social activities within the community. |

Para 1.20 | The charity was unable to run The Meeting Point as a drop‐in cafe on a one day per week basis as it remained closed for the whole period of the annual report. However, some occasional activities were possible within the various levels of Covid restrictions. A much‐reduced programme of children’s activities was run in the school summer holidays (parents or carers in attendance). Weekly telephone contact was maintained with elderly lunch‐club regulars throughout the pandemic to combat social isolation. The charity continued its registration to provide digital assistance to EU citizens applying for EU Settled Status, although this service was suspended until October. Chair yoga sessions are provided by a qualified teacher for those with limited mobility. |
