About the Charity
The Orcliard Baptist Church was registered with the Charities £ommlssl(•n In the Unlted
Kingdom under Charity Reg. No. 1155012 as a Charltsble Incorporated Or8anlsatlon on
15 December 2013 and commenced its activities on l April 2014.
The Church Is a member of the Baptlst Unlon of Great Brltsln and the Southern Countles
Baptist Association.
Oblertlves
The maln objectlves of the Charlty are to advance the Chrlstlan falth In accordance wlth
the principles of the Baptlst denomlnation. The Charlty may also advance education and
carry out other charitsble purposes in the Un5tg.d fingdom and other parts of the world.
Actlvltles
In fulflllln8 the objectlves of the Church, the organlsatlon wlll engage In a range of
artlvltles elther on Its own or wlth others that whll vary from tlme to tlme wlth actlvitles
belng Inltlated, expanded or closed, as èpproprfate.
The artlvltles may include, but are not restricted to:_

The encour*n8 feaknre of 2021 was the extent to which income hl8her than expetted and
eKpenditrJre lower than expected. with the result th* the Churth's reserves increased slight
rather than the budgeted reduction.
The chariWs funds In 2021 were spent lar8ely on the work of the Church wlth and tor I'ts
congregation and in the local community, and a150 Qn the ¥Brious rnlssion partners chosen by the
Church membershlp. The malorlty of the funds *tre spent on the employment of two full-tlme
mlnisters, until September, when one minlster began a one-￿r part-time (50%) appointment as
a Re8lonal Mlnlster wlth the Southern Countles eapttst Assodatlon. The charlty also employs an
adrnini5tratNe as5i5tsnt on a pan-iime bas15.
As a result of the ongoinB Covid pandemtc, savlngs contlllued to be made In our regulaf
expenditure as for some of the year we we unable to hire Cooper Sthool. though other venues
We￿ h5red and addltional expendlture made on equlpment t¢ allow servlces to o)ntlnue
onllne. We supported church mlsslon parknets In &Mrth East Asla and Afrlca as well as mlsslon
partners wFthln the UK.
As the lockdowns eased the manse on Graven Hlll be8an to be used as a resource for the loc81
¢ommunlty as part of the mlnlstry of the communlty mSnister. Several opportunltles to connect
with and care for the wider ciNnmunlty occurred thos year ès well as opportunltles to care for
d[Spe￿ed church. Costs InVo￿d In these actl¥ftles were met from wlthln the Budget allowance
or from 8rants and other outslde sources. Ary net fijnds carrfed forvrdrd Into 2022 w511 support

Our lrtentlon for 2022 Is to contlnve to fvnd the day to day running costs of the Church
including the payment of salaries and associated costs for our mlni5ters and part-time
admlnlstrator. The Charty also alms to conttnue to support our mlsslon partners. The Church Is
currently afflllated to the Baptlst Unlon of Great Brttsin and the Evangellcal Alllance, both
charities. and also finandalty supports Variws other charities including the Southem Countles
8aptlst Assoelaiion. Open Door$. BMS Worfd Mlsslon, Fleld partr￿ Intematlonal ahd Blte5ter

To date the Charlty has put £4.644 of Its reserves towards the purchase of a house for
refugee partnership with Hope in Action. The house V•75 purchased in January 2018 and
will be sold In 2023 whereby the Charity wtll recelve a return of Its share of the property.
The Investment also recelves an annual 4% Interest pwmient lequatlng to £2001 whlch Is
made every 6 months.
