United Kingdoin and the world, as the charity trustees may from time to time
decide.
Our Mission Statement
To visit every home in our area to explain d)e importance of Jesus and to eiicourage each
other to joyfully be like him.
BECONTREE CHURCH STATEMENT OF FAITH
l. The Bible is God's written word
Cai'i'ied along by the Holy Spirit, the Iiuiiiai) authors spoke fi'oin God and tlieir wol'ds a
wliolly trustworthy in all that tliey affirni ai)d deny. Being God-bi'eathed the Sci'iptures are the
full, final and suffIcient i'evelation of God, and are therefore our supi'eme autl)ority in all
Inattei. of faith and doctrine.
2. Sin itiiders all people liable to condemnation
By nature, all people al'e rebels against their Creator, and objects of liis i'ighteous anger and
wi?tli. Being dead iii sin we are powerless to save ourselves and, apart from God's Inercy and
the life-giviIig power of the Holy Spirit, must surely pcrish on tl)e Day of Judgeinent.
3. Tlie gospel proclaims the only way of salvation
Tlie living God, eternally existing in tliree persons, has acled in love foi. tlie salvation of mell
and women, old and young froin ev¢iy people and natioii. God the Fatlier sent God the Son
into tlie woi-ld to be tlie Saviour we need. God the Son gave himself up to deatli on tlie ci'oss
to i-cdeein all who will turn ai)d trust in hiin foi. tl)eir salvation. God tlie Holy Spirit briiigs tlie
blessing of convictioj) of sin and iiew birtli into the ricli iiiheritaiice of gi?ce and tt'utli, pardon
and peace won foi. us by Christ. This belongs equally to all who are adopted as childreii of
God. In Christ there is now no condemnation.
4. Jesus is tlie only Saviour, aiid judge of all
In tlic fullness of his eternal deity our Lord Jesus Christ was coiiceived by tlie Holy Spiril and
became inan, b¢in8 boim of tlie Virgiii Mary. H¢ took upon hiinself a pei'fect huinan natui'e

without COTnpromisiiig his divine nature and acquired a Inily human expei'ience. Humbling
hiin5elf to deatli on a cross, Jesus shed Siis blood as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin
of tlie world, bearing in our place tlie condemnation our sin deserved.
All who turn to him as Lord arc justified by faith alonc tl)rough grnce alone and, having
Christ's righteousness credited to tliem, are assured of eternal life. By raising Jesus bodily
from the d¢ad, and by exalting him iiito heaven, God the Father demonstrated full accepiance
of Clii-ist's fjnished atoning work and pi'oclaimed hiffl to be the one who willjudge all the
world.
5. The worldwide church 15 the fellowship of all who belong to Christ
The people of God coiisist of all those wl)o are born again by the Spirit. Tlie fellowship of
believers is sustained pi'imai'ily through prayer and the ministry of God's word, with baptisin
and the Lord's Supper as important signs of God's covenant of grace.
The i'iseii and ascended Lord Jesus gives gifts and ministries lo Iiis people so that, undei. tlie
aiitliority of liis word, his churcli Inay be built up in love to seive God aiid proclaim his
salvatioii iii the power of the Spirit.
6. God's tnission is to proclaim salvation to ilie ends of tlie earth
All inission is God's mission. From the time of huinaiiity's rebellion God lias acted in IovTng
Inei'cy to seek aiid to save the lost. It is God who is tlie Inissionei., and the chuirli is tlie fi'uit
of his missioii. Out of liis great love God ihe Fatlier seiit Iiis oiie and oiily Soli iiito the world,
iiot to coiideinn but to sav¢. Likewise, Jesus sent liis disciples into the world with delegated
autliority, and in living d¢peiidence iipon the Spii'it. They were sent to make available tlje
forgiveness of siiis to all who will believe.
Jesiis prayed tliat every subsequeiit generntion of his people would be united witli the
Apostles iii belief and inission, and so today we continue to take God's wol'd to God's woi'ld.
We pi'oclaim the forgiveness of sins to all iiations, and teacli all tliat Jesus comiiianded,
baptisiiig in tlie naine of tlje Father ai)d of the Soil and ol. tlie Holy Spirit, until he Irtuiiis.
God delays Jesus, i'etui'n, not wisliing any to perish biit all to come to eleri)al life. But i'eturn
he will, to judge tlie liviiig aiid th¢ dead, lo ushcr in tlie iiew heaven and i)ew eaitli. to call Iiis
servants to account aiid io receive them into glory. Amei). Come Lord Jesus.
