Description of the charity’s trusts
The Centre for Islam and Medicine (CIM) is governed by a constitution Type of governing document which has been in place since 2013. In accordance with the constitution, the object of the CIM is, to advance Summary of the objects of the education among the public in the subject of Islamic medical ethics in charity set out in its particular but not exclusively by working with healthcare professionals to governing document assist them to identify and address the ethical needs of Muslim patients. The charity operates in England and Wales.
During 2021, CIM entered into a partnership with the Centre for the Study of Islam in the UK at Cardiff University to fund an innovative new research project into Islamic bioethics. The research project, entitled “Understanding British Muslim Religious Professionals’ Perception of the Organ Donation Process”, is due to be completed in June 2023. The Centre is one of the leading academic institutions for research and teaching about Islam and Muslims in Britain. We confirm the trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.
