Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
At present MEER AID UK is mainly supporting MEER AID in Kashmir to run a food aid programme and as presently MEER AID in Kashmir having sufficient funds didn’t need any within this year. Similarly, no aid was provided to any other charity within this year.
Sufficient funds were already provided in previous financial years to MEER AID Kashmir to continue with Food Aid Programme for individuals, families, orphans and widows, including a Ramadhan (Fasting Month) Food Aid Package for 150 families in April 2020 and Medical Aid in the form of contributing to the hospital bills of the underprivileged people.
A project to construct a multi-speciality hospital, providing care and treatment for all kind of diseases including cancer in the Azad State of Jammu Kashmir hasn’t received support, as was expected, from the concerned authorities and departments of the government. This project has been abandoned.
A project to build a community Centre/worship place in Watton at Stone is under consideration.
The FOOD AID programme continues as planned. The charity will continue supporting other registered charities in their work.
