SUNSHINE CAT RESCUE TREASURER’S REPORT MARCH 2022 – FEBRUARY 2023

The year was an exceptional one in that we were left a large legacy. The majority of it has been invested and £50,000 was left in the current account to help us through the following financial year.

A profit was made over the year of £522,031 (previous year £3,489). Total capital was £561,748 (£39,718). **

Income for the year was £609,887 (£67,246) obviously well up on the previous year. We received three grants totalling £7,500 (£14,750).

Income from donations, totalled £24,833.88 (£27,583). This figure is made up of £2,537.74 (£1,926) of donations were eligible for GASDS (this is claimed on cash donations up to £30.00 which do not need a completed Gift Aid form, and also on tin shakes/donation tins), and £7,214 (£11,376) for Gift Aid. Donations on which we were unable to claim Gift Aid totalled £15,082.14 (£14,281).

Events provided £5,332 (£2,768).

Homing provided £8,283 (£7,746).

We were able to reclaim VAT to the value of £9,608 (£8,656).

Profit on The 200 Club was £2,997.50 (£2,793).

In addition to the money in the bank, we now have savings accounts with £95,323. **

Expenditure for the year was £88,110 (£63,757).

With regard to expenses, vets’ bills account for the biggest proportion, around 39% (52% last year), Cogges Veterinary Surgery continue to carry out neutering of ferals free of charge. Food and litter amount to 19.52% ( 19.75%). The cost of running the vehicle is paid for by a generous supporter.

“Other” expenses include costs for the web site, waste collection, heating contribution costs, auditor’s fees, legal expenses. **
