Aims and Purposes: The Church's aim is to welcome as many people as possible into our Church community, in order for them to learn more about the Christian faith and take part in the public worship of Jesus.

Objectives and Activities: The Mission Church is committed to the advancement of the Christian faith, firstly to our local community (Morriston) but also nationally and internationally.

Public benefit: When planning our activities for the year, the trustees considered the Commission's guidance on public benefit and, in particular, the specific guidance on charities for the advancement of religion. In particular, we try to enable ordinary people to live out their faith through:

Worship, prayer, learning about the Bible, and developing their knowledge and trust in Jesus.
Provision for pastoral care for any person who attends the Church.
Mission including outreach.
Financial donations to other Christian charities, or individuals in need (regardless of their faith). We hire the Memorial Hall in Morriston. This means we do not need to spend money on maintaining a church building. Two of our trustees sit on the committee of the Memorial Hall, and help to maintain good relationships with them and the wider community.

Safeguarding: We have a Designated Safeguarding Lead - Ian Fearn alongside a deputy Mary Skinner ensuring that we are up to date to the correct standard. Our membership with Christian Safeguarding Services (CSS) has been a big help and resource. They also provide any training we need.

Achievement and performance:

Our Sunday Service remains the main focal point of our life as a church, allowing people to attend, have fellowship with each other and be taught about their Christian faith. Worship and prayer routinely take place every Sunday morning. We meet at The Memorial hall in

Morriston which we hire weekly and the following has been referenced by one of our Trustees “I continue to be one of the volunteers who have the responsibility for setting up Church on a Sunday morning at The Memorial Hall, arranging the Teas and Coffees, putting up Banners, clearing away things and the general safety of all who attend.” Our Sunday mornings is where we teach the Bible, and our services usually start from 10:30am and finish around 11:45am. During this time refreshments are served. The teaching lasts for around 30-40 minutes every week, where we use the method of “expositional preaching and teaching”, making the point of the passage, the point of the sermon. This is usually accompanied with “sermon notes” and the use of a projector and screen, for important visual aids. The sermons always have relevant application for all who attend to reflect on and think through. The sermon notes are provided via the website.

JUICE is our Children’s ministry on a Sunday morning, and whilst we encourage parents to stay with their children aged 0-3 years where we cater for them in the main hall, with a soft play area, or alternatively, there is a side room with soft play and sofa's. We run three groups, namely those aged between 4-7’s, 8-11’s and the over 11's who stay in the main service. The two younger groups have appropriate Bible Teaching for their age, an activity, some free time and a healthy snack. A Trustee who also volunteers for “JUICE” commented in the following way ““Juice” (Join Us Investigating Christ’s Existence) is our teaching ministry at the church for all children aged 4 -11 years old who attend on Sunday mornings (divided into two classes). We meet every few months as a team along with the elder who oversees the ministry. Every teacher from both classes is encouraged to ask any questions or raise any issues and each teacher generally will give encouraging feedback about their time teaching at these meetings. I have been able to attend all meetings to date by the grace of God and attend a training session externally during the year. The children are taught in separate classes according to their age (4-7 year olds and 8-11year olds). Those children who are at secondary school stay in the main hall along with the adults to hear the pastor’s sermon. The ages within these classes are flexible however. As an example – we allow a child who might be older but have special needs or learning difficulties etc., to remain until they are ready to move up to the older class. Those of a comprehensive age can also opt to stay in the older class for a longer time if better suited. I have the privilege of being part of a dedicated and gifted team who teach the younger class one week in every six. I prepare the biblical story during the week before the lesson and bring visual aids along on the day (lots, including puppets!) to help the children learn. I make fresh fruit pots on the morning before church and bring “Fruit Shoot” drinks for them to enjoy during the lesson. We

begin with prayer then watch the bible story for the day in a cartoon version from “Saddleback Kids” on the church tablet, followed by story time. I try to make the story time both fun and interactive, encouraging the children to act out the story at times if they would like to. I practise the craft (on the same biblical story) at home at times and we always have a quiz on the story in teams – children against the teacher! There’s always a prize for the winner(s) and surprisingly, it’s always the children who win! We finish with a fun game time permitting. “Juice” is an incredible place to be, not just to see the children’s knowledge of Jesus and the Bible grow, but to see the children grow and develop in so many other ways both individually and as a group. Having such small classes the children also have quality time and attention and this can help with all sorts of skills - socialising, speaking, fine motor skills with crafts as examples.”

Family Services run during the calendar year and The Mission Church will hold a Family Service every 6-8 weeks usually at the breaks for terms and half terms and in line with the Christian calendar. These are services that are different to the usual format where all the family of church stays in for the duration. It is an interactive service that encourages participation from everyone present. We have children’s activities after the service as well as a food provided by the church. This year our stories have been a mixture of stories from Genesis, Exodus and from the Book of Joshua. One of our Trustees who is involved in hospitality for our Family Service wrote “Co-ordinating food at Family Services held around six weekly – when these take place I continue to co-ordinate what food is brought, to ensure we have a variety and keep food risks low. We are always incredibly blessed by the food contributed. We enjoyed a wonderful December with each Sunday featuring a different sandwich and a buffet on the Christmas Carol Service which is well attended by non-Christians.”
Licences with “CCLi” continue to be purchased yearly, and the Trustee that oversees this states “I also co-ordinate when the website and domain needs renewing and contact the treasurer to arrange funds. We also now pay for a Zoom subscription so we are not time limited.”
Baptisms in Church occur from time to time and one of our Trustees commented that “ We had the great joy of four baptisms at church in September 2024, two children and two adults from within the congregation. When we celebrate those who go through the waters of baptism in obedience to God’s word after conversion, I have begun a custom where I source and purchase personalised “Baptism Books” for those in attendance on the day to sign as special keepsakes. I also will source and purchase personalised chocolates to give to everyone who comes along on the day (a special bag of chocolates for those being baptised) along with a takeaway gift for everyone. displayed on a table suitably decorated to which I have added more decorative items this year.”

Prayer Group and Connect Groups and Discipleship Groups

Connect Groups we believe are important, as they provide an opportunity to meet regularly, to encourage one another, praise God and to minister to those who need Jesus. We meet every Tuesday from 12:20pm – 2:00pm including having lunch together and on a Wednesday evening throughout the School term for around 90 minutes, from 6:15pm – 7:45pm, where we sing, pray, have fellowship and open up God's Word, the Bible. There is also an opportunity to have food together before Connect starts. We usually follow on from the previous Sunday's sermon and have time for questions, whilst meeting in person and on zoom.
Holiday Connect takes place at the end of July into the beginning of August for the young people of the church. This year we went through the book of James, as well as cooking together each year under the watchful eye of one of the leaders. It is a great way for the young people of the church to connect with each other during the summer holiday periods.
Kidz Connect is our club for the under 18’s of the church. We have been meeting since September 2020 and have a regular group of five from the church who attend on zoom with their parents. We have a number of people whom our Church describes as “Advanced in Years” who also regularly join us, who are “young at heart” and love being around the youth and younger people.. The evenings consist of an interactive icebreaker to involve all the children, a song, a cartoon, Bible story and lesson before being taught on the Bible story of the week. Again this year we held a bake along section to the group at the end of each half term. On the last Thursday of each half term one of the leaders, joins us to take us through a recipe of her choosing that the group then cooks along with. It has proved popular with the group throughout the year.
Read and Relate usually takes place in the Autumn term, we offer an opportunity to explore a Book written by a Christian. This takes place on a Saturday morning, 7:30am – 8:30am, so not to impact on crucial family time! All who attend will read the chapter in the week beforehand, and questions are provided to work through on the Saturday morning. People are given an opportunity to participate sharing their thoughts and views and we will usually work on some practical aspect to go away with. There are usually 6-12 adults who attend. This year we did as a Church “Joy in the Sorrow” and for the men of the Church “Pointman.”
Christianity Explored is a course offered to those who are interested in discovering more for themselves about Christianity. The course is

over 7 weeks, and looks at issues like “The Gospel, Who is Jesus?, Why did He come?, Why did He die?, Jesus' resurrection and the cost of being a disciple”, with Bible readings, a DVD, a user handbook and an opportunity to ask questions in a relaxed friendly environment! We had two Iranians who completed the course.
Discipleship, as leaders we provide “pathways” for Christians to grow and mature, primarily through prayer and obedience. We will routinely use the Bible and Christian literature to facilitate growth and development, leading to serving in ministry opportunities. This has progressed to inviting other Church leaders, and/or emerging leaders to monthly meetings, focusing on growth through praying, Bible teaching and sharing. In addition to this we will encourage our people, through modelling, to attend conferences and training relating to Christian issues.
Pastoral support is undertaking primarily by our Pastor and his wife, who are willing to meet regularly with people in the Church, who consider themselves to be in need of pastoral support. During the past year this has continued, meeting either in person or on zoom, listening to people, praying with them and suggesting ways forward as we look at Scripture together. This has helped those families start to work through necessary issues in a constructive helpful way. This past year has been particularly difficult because of a number of deaths.
The Memorial Hall Committee continues to be represented on the managing committee with members of the Church. The Memorial Hall Committee works in conjunction with the officers from the other groups and organisations that use the Hall. Part of that responsibility is to make sure the Church cares for the Hall in the time it uses it as well as attending bi monthly meetings and overseeing the running of the Hall. One of our Trustees who is on the committee cites “This involves continuing to be a member of the Morriston Memorial Hall Committee where my duties include regular meetings at the Hall, usually for a few hours, with the other members, who represent the local Community to discuss all aspects of running and overseeing responsibility for the Hall. They have asked me to help on various occasions to assist in the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the Hall and its grounds.”
Elders, of which The Mission Church has two, are men who lead the Church and have spiritual oversight for the whole Church. They meet fortnightly, allowing people from the Church to also attend should they wish so, where they pray and seek God, working through aspects relating to their own development. They will use prayer lists and prayerfully plan the Church yearly timetable. They will also ensure that specific considerations are taken into account as they lead the Church, providing its teaching and preaching, overseeing all aspects of ministry work, whilst ensuring that all issues relating to the maintenance of the

Church are carried out. There is currently an “elder in training”, of whom it is hoped will be appointed at The Church AGM in November 2025.

Deacons + COG (Church Operation Group) ensure that we have Deacons, both men and women who are born again Christians, who are wise and competent, bringing great chemistry to the overall leadership team. We look for these leaders to use their God given gifts to serve the Church and wider community, through local, national and international Gospel Work. We use the COG Meetings to review all policies and to continue to develop a working knowledge of the policies, ensuring that we have integrity in our responsibilities. The COG Meetings enable us to journey together in our development. There are currently two “deacons in training”, again we are hoping to appoint them at The Church AGM in November 2025. One of our deacons wrote “This year we met as deacons to choose and work together towards purchasing an outdoor all weather table tennis table for the children who come to church (primarily, although it has been great fun to witness some of the adults also playing with the children!). After much research purchasing one for my own family, I was able to put together information for the leaders regarding a well-established company along with a selection of suitable tables. A purchase was made and the church have been blessed to have had such a rich resource throughout the summer and beyond. As we do not own our own church building but rent “The Memorial Hall,” we have been able to happily pass on the blessing of this wonderful resource to the many other adults, children and differing groups who also hire the hall throughout the year.”
Church Leaders wear several “hats” so to speak and the following is an extract from one of our leaders report “As a church leader I make efforts to regularly keep up to date with all the many daily and weekly emails we receive and send to one another, replying, praying and responding etc. I strive to attend all scheduled meetings throughout the year- COG meetings, trustee meetings, planning meetings, the annual one to one elder and deacon meeting, deacons' meetings, Juice meetings, church membership meetings and the most recent addition of meetings – our deacons’ social meeting. I also have availed myself to any impromptu or emergency meetings or any other meeting which arises that is not on our Yearly Planner.”
Trustees have legal responsibilities as a registered Charity. We work as a team to develop our knowledge as Trustees, through different policies, applying that knowledge consistently in all relevant aspects. Trustees undergo training every three years and are encouraged to reread the Essential trustee document provided by The Charity Commission. Charity Commission, and complete the yearly annual report in a timely manner the deadline for this is 31[st] May. This year I have now handed this over due to my home circumstances. I ensure all relevant information is sent to all trustees. I also ensure all contact information is correct on the site, and add or remove any trustees as needed. I keep up to date with my role and periodically read The Essential trustee written by The Charity Commission.”

Risk Assessments + Fire Drills + Setting up, as leaders hiring a community hall we take full responsibility for carrying out weekly risk assessments, twice yearly health and safety assessments, along with two fire drills every year. It is hoped that in doing so, all people are kept as safe as possible during all of our meetings and activities. As part of our work in the community two members of the leadership have a position on the Committee of The Memorial where our services are held. They attend bi-monthly meetings in which we work through the management of the hall. All paperwork is shared amongst the leaders and we also have a “Health and Safety Strategy for a Sunday Morning” which enables us to work in partnership with all parents and those who have responsibility for others. This is shared with the wider Church via a slide show and file located on our book table.
AGM + Church meeting, we have two Church Meetings every year, usually in May and November (our Annual General Meeting) for Church Members, but we also invite non-members to come and observe, hoping that this will encourage them to become members. We will have some lunch together, have a chair person and Church Secretary who records and then provides the minutes, which are then circulated. It is an opportunity to provide leadership reports, Safeguarding and financial updates and for us to be held accountable by Church Members. It is a great opportunity to learn how God's people work through differences.
Mission, Ministries and Evangelism at The Mission Church we continue to look for ways to be involved in both the local and wider community. Some of the ways we do this are: Partnerships with other Churches. In addition to the Biblical teaching we provide every Sunday, there are occasions throughout the year, where other Churches in the Swansea area are supported by us. This is to enable other Pastor's in the main to enjoy their annual leave and for us to continue to build important relationships. These Churches are supported by us teaching and preaching the Bible to their congregations and providing essential discipleship where necessary.
Beginnings (Term time) is run by The Mission Church, it is a Parent and Toddler Group for the local community and those in the surrounding areas. Each Wednesday morning Beginnings runs from 9am – 11am at The Memorial Hall. The morning consists of time for the children to play, a story told from the Bible, a time for snacks and then

home time. Parents can have tea and coffee whilst enjoying time with friends. The group is run by church volunteers, who have been subject to relevant checks. Beginnings is an excellent way to connect with parents, carers, grandparents etc. as they have a place to come and spend with the child or children they are responsible for. At the end of each term we will usually have a party with food and fancy dress. We usually have between 15 and 25 families each week. One of our Trustees who volunteers at Beginnings says “I also have responsibility for setting up on a Wednesday morning for our local “Mums and Toddlers ministry, called Beginnings. I also volunteered as a helper at this group. I would be involved in setting up and clearing away, mixing with the parents, where we serve, regularly around 50 cups of tea and coffee.”

Involved Together stands for I.T and occurs in the home of two of our leaders for those over 55 from the church and anyone else who would like to come. There are usually between 8-12 people attending. We have lunch each week, a time for catching up, a section for recapping on the sermon from church on Sunday as well as a quiz most weeks. This year we started going out to the local Sizzling Pub to eat at the end of each half term. It’s a great way for the group to be seen and enjoy the local community and is thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Pentre'r Graig Primary School is a Primary School in our local area and has over 300 children who attend, consisting of over 20 different nationalities, some who have English as a second language! Every Thursday morning we take an assembly for around 20-25 minutes, with a prayer, songs, a cartoon illustration from Saddleback Kids, a Bible reading and then we teach the children material from the Bible. We have also developed links between this School and a Children's Orphanage in Nepal!
School Governor, we have had an opportunity for one of our leaders to sit on a board of School governors at Pentre'r Graig Primary School for the past two years, attending meetings and praying for the School. Teachers have also been supported by “biscuits and Easter Eggs” along with receiving encouraging cards. The School has also received at the start of two academic years a combined gift of £1500.00 to help as it deems necessary.
Love in Action is a way that the Church can share the love of Jesus Christ with others. One of the ways we do this is through what we call 'Love in Action'. Which means when we are made aware of a need amongst our Church or wider community, we try to meet that need, e.g. this could be financially (see financial donations and support) or we can provide meals for a week, fortnight or a month. We also try to send flowers and cards to those who are going through a difficult time or need some encouragement.

Nepal is a country that we try every year to visit, where we plan the teaching of a Biblical Book, continuing to build a relationship with a Children's Orphanage in Kathmandu, Nepal. During this period we visited in May 2025, taking a group of 7. The teaching is for Pastor's, leaders and emerging leaders and this takes place over a 3 day period. We will again used the method of “expositional preaching”, providing notes, books and prizes. There were 5 teaching sessions throughout each day, finishing each day with an opportunity for “Questions and Answers”. We continue to support various ministries within Nepal through financial support, meeting up and prayer. As part of the Leadership of the group Ian Fearn was responsible for the administration, daily activities and liaising with Nepalese church leaders throughout our time there. Since 2013 the Mission Church has supported Dolpa Hope Home and has, since 2018, cultivated a relationship with Message of the Cross Church including supporting both financially. This year there was a group of 7 from the church including Pastor Mark Skinner. The group had arranged in conjunction with Message of the Cross Church a small gathering of local Church Leaders interested in learning through the Bible. This year the chosen book was Ephesians. As well as this the group visited the Home and spent time with the young people and children there also taking them for a meal out, the children really enjoyed their pizza! Visits to Kings Church Kathmandu and Message of the Cross provided opportunities for two of the group to preach. There was also time for some of the group who did not attend the teaching days to spend time with different people from Dolpa Home. Outside of the visit Ian has been able to be pat of a group meeting weekly to continue learning through the bible starting the book of Ruth in June to we completed the book of Haggai in September 2025.
Membership is for those wanting to make a deeper commitment to the body of Christ. We have a clear structure on those wishing to pursue membership. We currently have 21 members (14th July 2025) We have two members meeting each year. These meetings are planned for May and November, November is when we have our AGM. Agendas and minutes are provided and are available on the member’s section of our website.
Website and social media is a great way to promote the Church and inform people through the use of the internet. The Mission Church has its own website which is updated regularly and provides a wealth of information on the Church and its activities. There is also a member’s area in which to access meeting minutes and other relevant documentation. We also use Facebook, to inform people of upcoming events and to advertise what is going on in the Church.
Remembrance Gifts is something that has been developed in particular by one of our Trustees who wrote the following “Over the last

three years we began to show our condolences in one new way to those amongst us who sadly lose a close relative. I will strive to source personalised photograph frames for those who are grieving making sure each one is tailor made and beautifully wrapped for the recipient.” This act of love and compassion allows a grieving person know that they are not alone at such an upsetting time in their lives.

Our Charity Constitution makes provision for the “Remuneration of Trustees” (Point 10).

We have financially supported a number of individuals involved in Christian Ministry and make financial donations to individuals, known to the Church, who are in “need” (regardless of their faith).

This includes:-

Events and Activities - £1814

Pentre'r Graig Primary School - £1000

Season Tickets for ministry purposes - £550

Eastside Community Church - £500

Oasis Church - £12,687.50

In this period, we have also spent £32,004 on our Nepal partnerships.

During this period we did not receive any grants and donations.

CHURCH STRUCTURE

The Mission Church is governed by the Church Constitution and Church Rules dated 1[st] November 2013. All Church Officers (Pastor, Elders and Deacons) become a Trustee when they assume their position as a Church Officer. The Trustees meet twice a year. Decisions are made by a majority vote between the Trustees.

concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the
Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than
any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which
is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of
the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities
Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the
above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31stJuly 2025.
