- Wincobank Village Hall AGM 2023 24 Chairs Report

Our Wincobank Village Hall has continued to be successful and popular within our community and bookings continue to be a nice mix of Community events, Private bookings and Commercial use, all of which helps keep our bank balance fairly healthy. We still do need to keep good reserves for the lease, which no doubt the Council will be requiring us to sign one day,

Our regular weekly/monthly bookings include ‘Smoking Cessation meetings Motor Neurone meetings, Gentle Aerobics which is generally well attended. We hold our well attended Coffee mornings on alternate Thursdays and on the opposite alternate Friday we have our Coffee afternoon with Anne’s delicious buns. We also continued to run the successful Singalong each month thanks to funding from SOAR . The baby and toddler group meet every Friday morning during term and Sports Massage have returned once again. We have also started a foot care clinic which is proving very popular, particularly with our elderly residents. Market Research continues to use our venue which does bring in a good revenue and the Village Hall was once again used as a Polling Station, providing an income. We have rented out one of the store rooms outside to Keith and Lesley continues to run her Sports Massage & Movement Therapy which is going from strength to strength.

Over the year there have been many successful events held in the Centre, including our ‘Brains of Wincobank’ Quiz night, which once again proved a brilliant success raising over £500 for Bluebell Wood - the coffee afternoon team won. This year Zoe cooked the excellent Community Christmas Party for the regular patrons and Paul came to entertain us. A great time was had by all, unfortunately we are restricted to 30 people. One again we successfully held our Children's Art competition and this has now clearly become an annual event. The Centre is now regularly booked for ‘Market Research’ bringing in a useful income, also many private bookings and we are continuing to attract many family parties and celebrations.

I know I say this every year, but none of this would happen without our dynamic duo Secretary Anne and Alan Crompton, with the support of the Trust members particularly our treasurer Pete Foyle, who keeps us on the straight and narrow. I would just like to place on record my thanks to all members of the Village Hall Trust, I think we have a Centre we should all be proud of.
