## - Wincobank Village Hall Trust AGM 2021 22 Chairs Report

Over past 12 months our Village Hall has made an excellent recovery since the scourge of the Pandemic virus, which closed the Hall for quite some time and we are now going from strength to strength. The popularity of the Hall has continued to grow within our community and bookings have increased with a nice mix of Community events and Private bookings, all of which helped to bring in much needed income and keep our Bank Balance fairy healthy. This is vital, as the lease will have to be signed very soon leaving us with extra running costs.

Our regular weekly bookings include; Zest on Mondays, Baby Ballet on Tuesdays, Grappling on Tuesdays, Aerobics on Wednesdays, Yoga on Thursdays and Sundays, Toddler Group on Fridays and Weight Watchers Saturdays. Wincobank people should be very fit.

We also have Coffee mornings on alternate Thursdays and Coffee afternoons on alternate Friday and we still run the successful Singalong.

Over the year there have been many successful events held in the Centre, including an Antique Roadshow, our Brains of Wincobank Quiz night, but modesty prevents me from naming the winning team. Our Christmas Fayre, the proceeds from which we bought a defibrillator for the Centre. Our Community Christmas Party. We organised a brilliant Silver Jubilee, Children's Art competition, together with St Thomas’s Church and the Scouts, in which all our 4 Junior Schools participated. Perhaps this could become an annual event? We also planted Cherry Trees at the front, involving local children to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee and a plaque is shortly to be fixed to celebrate the event.

There has also been so many private bookings including several Charities, the Local Elections, a Market Research Co.and many private parties

I think this must be one of the best used Community Centres in the City but Of course none of this would happen without our dynamic duo Secretary Anne and Alan Crompton, with the support of the Trust members particularly our treasurer Pete Foyle, who keeps us on the straight and narrow. I would just like to place on record my thanks to all members of the Village Hall Trust, all of whom have worked hard through the year to make it such a success

Keep safe everybody.

Cllr Pete Price Chair
