Annual Report 2023 – 2024
A Message from our Chairman
I am pleased to submit the International Committee for Rehabilitation Aid to Afghanistan (ICRAA)’s annual report for 2023-2024 to the Charity Commission on behalf of our trustees.
What we did this year:
This year, we raised funds and supported individuals in Afghanistan and the UK, focusing primarily on agriculture and food aid. We distributed food kits to Afghan refugees returning from Pakistan in Kabul and Nangarhar, benefiting many families, and our nursery plantation project continued to aid low-income farmers in Afghanistan, especially amidst flooding disasters, to foster a sustainable environment. In the UK, we provided nutritious food to the homeless, asylum seekers, and those without legal status, supported by partnerships with organisations such as Neighbourly Foods, which connected us with Sainsbury and Aldi stores in Leeds for ongoing food distribution.
What we will do next year:
Looking ahead, ICRAA raised £4,169 this year, with total expenditures of £3,010. With limited resources, we plan to enhance individual donor contributions through email campaigns and newsletters. Our focus will remain on assisting disaster-affected farmers with seeds and various plants, and we aim to expand our support for asylum seekers by collaborating with like-minded organisations. Additionally, we will seek funds to empower Afghan women facing significant challenges so they can earn an income. We are proud to maintain our membership with the NCVO, reinforcing our commitment to effective charitable work.
