## . **NIDUS-UK ANNUAL REPORT TO CHARITY COMMISSION – Feb 2021 to Feb 2022** ## **Summary:** **Balance on 5[th] February, 2021 - £12,102 Balance on 4th February, 2022 - £57,581 Total income for year: £49,221 Total expenditure: £3,742** This has been an active year for the charity. There have been several developments that have increased the income to the account in advance of expected expenditure. ## **A. National Heritage Lottery Grant.** A grant of £7,410 was agreed to be paid by the Heritage Lottery to NIDUS-UK in September 2021 and paid in November, 2021 for the production of two radio plays linked to the novel, The Watermeadow Mystery: Secret Treasure at Hawton, published in 2018. The two plays concern the journey of King James from Holyrood in Edinburgh to Westminster in London in 1603, and a murder mystery, set in 1948, when buried treasure from King James visit to Hawton 345 years earlier is the cause of intrigue and foul play. The plays will include actors seen in connection with nidotherapy developments and will be completed by October 2022. Danes feature prominently. Inventor Rewards and Cotham Old School Development** Peter Tyrer has received £31,500 from Imperial College Innovations for the use of original rating scales that are now owned by Imperial College but which have attracted commercial interest and sales. This has been paid into NIDUS-UK after tax paid before receipt. ## **Income received: £31,500** **Expenditure:** Web site upgrade £153.59 Tree clearance 500 Securing fencing 600 Petrol costs 44 Word press payments 135.95 1433.54 TOTAL Balance outstanding: £30,066.46 ## **C. 2021 Nidotherapy workshop, Brunel University teaching and other donations** The workshop was a virtual one carried out via Microsoft Teams and hosted by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Trust on 14[th] and 15[th] September. ## **Explanation of change over year** The assets of the charity have increased by nearly £50,000 in 2021. This is explained by the following new sources of income: 1. Fees paid by Imperial College Innovation Fund for questionnaires and rating scales by PT that have been copyrighted by Imperial College, who then negotiate fees with organisations that want to mass produce copies (mainly pharmaceutical companies but also national and governmental organisations (Total: £31,500). This income continue to be generated and payments are made when the sum exceeds £10,000 (although a proportion will now go to Imperial College’s Division of Psychiatry). 2. Grant provided by the National Heritage Lottery Fund for the production of two radio plays based on The Watermeadow Mystery. (Total £7410). 3. The setting up of a donate button on the nidotherapy website that has encouraged many more donations. This is administered by Everfund, an organisation that collects 3,5% of proceeds (approve by the Trustees in 2021 as reasonable costs (Total £1140) 4. Book royalties due to PT are now paid directly into NIDUS-UK. Steve Cawte of the publisher Impspired has been involved in formalising the link between publisher and charity (Total £561). The additional income is needed to develop the Advice and Training Centre, a process that is likely to cost £100,000 spread over 18 months.
