The Deacons, when eletted, are automatically elected as Trustees of the Charitylchurch. The Church is Managed by the Diaconate, acting for the governing body. The Church Meeting. The rnember5hip of the Diaconate is by election for three years lor part of three years where new deacons are lo replace deacons who have not completed their full term) by the Church Meeting Details of the Diaconate are shown above. The Church Meeting is convened quarterly and the Annual General Meetin8 which is held in March each year. The Oiaconate normally meets approximately every 6 weeks with a rneetin8 scheduled prior to a Members Meeting. Ob ectives and Activfties The objectives of the Church are to provide A place of public worshlp for the service of Almighty God A place for the Instruction of children and adults, as a Church Hall. or as a place for the promotion of other charitable purposes. Those attendin8 meetlngs do noi have to be membefs of the Baptist church. The Deacons have gNen re8ard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit when planning activities. and are satisfied that these demonstrate that the church is providin8 a benefit to the public. A place fof maintainlng and practicing the doctrine and rite of Bapli5m of believer5, and no other baptism. There are four organisations, Boys, Brigade, Girls, Brl8ade and 8eehive mother and toddler group, which cater for the youn8er members of the community fiom the a8e of O to 16+. The Boys and Girls Brigades are Independently run by church members on church premises. We also have Meetin8 Point which caters to the needs of the older members of the local community. Tru ee5 and Tru ee< Res slbllftles The Diaconate {acling for the Church Meeting) is responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy. at any time, the financial position of the Church and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011. They are also responsible for safe8uardin8 the assets of the Church and hence taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and anv other irregularities. The Trustees have paid due regard to the Charity Commission evidence of public benefit. Achlevemen and Perfomiance Durin8 the last 12 months the church has continued lo operate an "Open Doorf policy and all are welcome to Joln existing membeis for weekly services or other meelings taking place. During the year we have included a weekly Bible Study and have also commenced an informal Sunday evening meetin& Both of these new meetings are well attended. The church has continued to attract new attenders and the average attendance for our Sunday rnornin8 services is 37 Adults. 5 Young People and 10 Children. Our weekly coffee mornin8 (Meeting Point) conlinues to have an average of 10 Senior Citizens attendin8. The number of Boys and Girls coming to ihe Brigade Meetings have inueased over the last year with now an avera8e of 14 Young People attending each week. Our Mother/Carer and Toddler group (Beehive) now attracts about 15 under 5's with thelr mothers or carers each week. Various chufch members volunteer to help at all these meetings. We are very 8rateful to them for giving of ihelr time. At various times during the year we have held several activities for the children in the local area. including a 3- day Holiday Club. a Li8ht Party {an alternative celebration to Halloween) and a Christmas Party. We are contlnuing to use the 7OOM" platform to enable those that are not able to attend rneetings in person. Thls enables them to have contact with other members and join in ai Prayer Meetings and the monlhly Sunday e4ening Communion service. We opefale a Pastoral Care systern which means that all who are house bound are contacted regularly to ensufe that ihey are being looked after and to see if help is needed. Our Minisler and Assistant Minister also visit thern in their own home. if they have not been able to get to the meetings. The Charity Trustees feel that the continuin8 of the various organisation adivitles provides a. much needed. safe meeting place for both old and youn8 of the Ioc31 community. The Trustees have made an assessment of the rnajor risks facin8 the thurth. and are satisfied that there are poliaes in place lo minimise these risks. Financlal Revlew Durin8 the year (2024) we have continued to keep. both the church buildings and the manse in good order with repairs and 8eneral maintenance carried when necessary. Our income for the year rose to £70.545 leaving a deficit of £2,387 over expenditure. During the year we have been able to donate £3.363 to local charities as well as donations to the Baptlst Missionary Society. We are 8fateful to all those who have 50 generously 8iven to enable us to continue to meet all our objectives and aims. The church continues io raise the funds which it needs to carry on its artivities frorn within its own membership and congregation. No wider public appeal was made for funds durin8 the year. The Charity has a Reserves Policy in pla￿ and is satlsfied that Ihey have sufficient reserves at the Balance Sheet date, tO8ether with ongoing income anticipated. to enable the church to functlon effectively in the coming year. An amount of £40.1N)O minimum Is to be held to enable the Chaflty to fulfil its financlal obligations. The church Is heavlly dependent on its membership workin8 as volunteers in all aspects of the church's activities. many of which run with little or no impact on the church's expenditure, but nevertheless conlribute substantially to the achievemenl of the church'5 objectives.
