Trustees Report for the year ended 31 December 2024
Objectives and Activities
Hereford in Bloom has continued to maintain the flower baskets and beds throughout the year.
Achlevements and Performance
Heart of England in Bloom has awarded Hereford, a Gold Award for 202314. Hereford in Bloom would
like to thank all the groups of volunteers which helped the City. to achieve this coveted award. Heart
of England judges were impressed with other charitable projects we visited. Two in particular: St
Michae15 Hospice and St Thomas Cantilupe C of E Academy who obtained special Heart of England
individual awards.
Possibly one of our most successful years to date, with a difficult one to follow.
The enthusiasm of the volunteers who have weeded, mulched, maintained and watered flower beds
and baskets throughout the year in all weathers. New volunteers are always needed but the current
trend in the wider community for greener spaces has resulted in a severe shortage.
Cooperation with Hereford County and City Councils also helped to assist improving the look of our
City by hedge and gras5 Cutling. The installation of the wooden planters acr055 the City improved the
environment not only by helping to reduce carbon monoxide and increase oxygen levels but also to
provide a greener look.
