further afield lo worship together at the Chapel and become part of the Chapel's active community.
When planning our activities for tho year. we have considered the Commission's guidance on public benefit
and, in particular, the supplementsry guidance on ¢haritses for the advancement of religion. In particulaf, we
try lo enable ordinary people to live out their faith as part of our community through..
Worship and prayer,. leaffting about the (a>spel.' and developing their knowledge and trust in Jesus.
Provision of pastoral care for people living in the parish.

activities of the Trust. New Iruslees are appointed by the Trustees.
Achievements and Porfonnance
Through0￿1 the year the Chapel has provid&Y a range of opportunib.es for members and the community to
worship and lellowship together.
Ministrtes
Clearly the whole tirnetable of the chapel ministries has changed in their nature due lo l(thdown restrictions
throughout the year. Up until mid-march, some ministries were able to conb.nue as nom381. Ftorn mid-Ma￿h
onwards we have had lo adapt lo the restrith'ons accordingly.
P￿-COvid, the ministrie5 Qf Sunday morning meeting. Café Church. Kids Club. Fit for Life {balan￿ class
and Bible Study). Life Groups, Chapel Tea, Prayer ￿￿tr"ngs, Tols and Mini lth.ds all carried on as nonnal.
During the inib.al lockdown we were able to make sure all the church members who had access to the
internet were able to join in with Zoom meetings vthich allowed mid-week prayer meeb.ngs and Lifegroups
lo cary on. The Sunday moming meetsngs moved onto YouTube as a prerecorded playlist of songs,
sermons, prayers and other rn￿ting elements, wth various members being involved with leading those.
After those had been watched we were able to gather on Z(K)m ft)r a b.me of encouragement and
conversation.

BEECHWOOD CHAPEL
REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2020
When the building was allowed to te open in July, a risk assessment was followed lo allow us to meet in a
covid safe way. This continued for the rest of the year apart from the November lockdown when we were
again unable to meet in person due to Govemment Covid-19 restrictions. While the chapel building has
been open on a Sunday. the mini kids group has continued to nbn. in a covid safe way. coinciding with when
schools have been open or closed.
Unfortunately due to I￿kdOWn restrtctions, fit for lrfe. café church, chapel tea, the tots group and kids club
could not happen from mid-march. Al Christmas there was a nativity trail set up around the estate which
kids club children were invited to join in with. Personal contacts were maintained some families who
have had contact with the chapel through these ministries.
Help was offered during Ihe nabonal lockdown in the form of leafiets, cards and pelsonal contaets to those
on the estate who needed practical help- shopping, conversation, prayer. The YouTube and Zoom
meetr'ngs were advertised using swal media plafforms.
Christmas was an opportunity to do a few more videos that ￿tre shared on social media platfomis. These
involved people from the chapel sharing their favourite carols and the band from chapel performing these
carols.
During the summer we were able to do a mini Love Beechwcth week. This involved practically serwng the
estate by Picking litter, clearing weeds and sweeping paths.
Cathy, our community worf(er has been MO￿ limrted due to having to isolate wrth her family. She has
continued to keep relationships from a distance and serve many on the estate Mth food drop offs, doorstep
conversations and phone calls. She has been able to carry on attending her various cornmunity committee
meetings via zoom.
Leadershi
During 2020, Steve Bedford. whilst remaining as an elder and trustee. had lo step back somewhat from his
resFM)nsibilities due to health problems. As 2 valuéd chur¢h member he is still able to offer his advice and
experience when necessary.
Pastoral Care
The eldership have spent regular one-tc￿ne lime with a number of the Church membefship or those known
to the membership who are interested in Christianty. This has often had lo be online or on doorsteps, due
to covid.
Worfd Mission
The church has regulaTly donated to mission acbvitr.es in India and Fiji through partners Benji and Gill
and lo Romania through donations to 'Grfts for Romania,. We have been able to speak to Benji and Gill on
Zoom, as they joined one of our weekly meetings for encouragement and prayer. Additionally we have
supported the mission organisation Echoes of Service and donated lo support the general work of Wirral
Youth for Christ. We have continued lo supwrt JH who is a missionary in Northem Afrira- in fact we have
slightly increased the amount we give to him. Due the global pandemic, their ministries have had lo adapt
and we have kept up to dale wth this. We r￿1ve written updates from these individuals and organisalions
which inform us of the work they are undertaking the monetary gifts given. We are sabsfied that each
individuavorganisation has a safeguarding ￿lIcY in pl￿ an(J un¢Jertakes annual training for its workers.
