Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
The past year has seen us following our normal activities. We are grateful for the services of Christian Simonsen as Physiotherapist, Neill Coull as Speech Therapist, Sophie Crosley as Exercise Tutor and Caroline Williams as Yoga Tutor. Neill Coull has been assisted by some of his students who ran speech therapy sessions in a corner of the Hall. All members are encouraged to make use of the physiotherapy and speech therapy sessions. You would have to pay a lot more for such services elsewhere!
We have welcomed several new members, and had a very enjoyable summer outing on the Broads.
Storage problems meant that we did not make as much progress as hoped with the list of activities that had been discussed at the last AGM, however the idea of singing has been better achieved by members joining the Aphasia Choir which meets in the library at the Forum
The board members have continued to maintain accurate records, with thanks to Carole Limmer for the hard work in preparing the accounts for independent examination. Excellent support has been received from all the committee to make this year a success and allow us to continue to run.
As always we remember our motto: “We aim to take the “Dis” out of Disability.”

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Norwich Stroke Survivors' Club
Charity registration number: 1154574
Independent examiner's report to the trustees of the Norwich Stroke Survivors' Club
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 March 2025 as set out on pages 6 to 7
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
-
accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
Meh. Nita.
