**Objects:** TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC THE CONSERVATION PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE LANDSCAPE AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT OF THE QUANTOCK HILLS. THE BOUNDARIES OF THE QUANTOCKS FOR THIS PURPOSE SHALL BE THOSE OF THE QUANTOCK HILLS AREA OF OUTSTANDING NATURAL BEAUTY TOGETHER WITH SUCH ADJACENT OR NEARBY AREAS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO OR AFFECT THE QUANTOCK LANDSCAPE AND ENVIRONMENT. IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS OBJECT, THE TRUSTEES SHALL HAVE THE POWER TO ACT AS INDEPENDENT GUARDIANS OF THE QUANTOCK HILLS ON BEHALF OF THE PUBLIC.
