Logistical support is provided to the Police For￿ of Devon and Comwall as VRII as to Hospitals, Doctors, Care Homes and to County Councils and to other Charrties during events. Imndrush 9 8efry Lan 8￿J￿1￿ PL312ÉP A¢hievoments and Perfornianc• 2023 stsrted with support for St Lukes Hospi￿ Care and Faknouth Half marathon, both events that v have supported regularty in the past, and we continue to support Canw Research, as well as providing safe environments for Ic¢al Comish ￿reMOnieS and ￿Unty shows in Devon and Comwall. Exposure at these events has led to increased enquiries for support to help wrth transporting th able members of the public where the often-rural thations have made it difficult to a(xxs. Illhilst the weather in the South-west was predominantly dry and hot, there were some peri(MJs of extreme wel weather. which resulted in Challenging conditions at some of these events where car parking was on green fields. Our responders are trained in providing traction assistan￿ and ensured that vehicles were able to leave the parking areas safely. Armed Forces Day, held in June, was a major event that involved almost 30 responders working closely with Devon and Cornwall Police. in providing road closures and traffic management to ensure safe and secure environment for the various parades and ￿lebratiOnS in Falmouth. In late Octoberlearly November the Group was held on standby by the emergency services due to a severe weather waming which, fortunately, passed without incident. Training throughout the year has been monitored closely by our Teamsite administrator, who is able to track members, development and issue timely reminders to ensure that all active responders meet our minimum requirements. Online refresher courses are regularly undertaken and recorded as part of the Groups communications system. Two external Traffic Management for Communty Events ITMCE) were held in November and December, wrth a further 20 members attending. The Group has also undertaken a review of its policies and procedures, engaging the services of a professional Health and Safety organisation. Throughout the year Y4e have continued to develop our relationship with Devon and Comwall Poli￿, building on the JESIP Incident Manager and MISPER Missing Persons courses they invrted us to attend. Talks are ongoing with the Police and our Lead Liaison officer to develop an accredited course which will give members more authonty on authorised road closures, and the outlook is favourable although some way off. Membership of the group has ￿rna1ned fairly ststic at 97 wrth 67 operational throughout 2023 and although a number of members have retired, there has been a steady intake of new members. This has been largely as a resutt of the appointrnent of a Social Media officer who has developed various strategies with our social media plaffoms and website. The mcmjest membership fee increase, delayed from 2022, has now been irnplemented successfully and this has enabled us to continue to provide more PPE to our members. Zurich Insurance plc provides Public Liability and Employer5 Insuran￿ forthe group and ts members. Finances The balan￿ ofaccounts on 1 January 2023 was £13086.62 and £20643.17 by the year end. Claims for Gift Aid have been applied for by the Group Treasurer and the first payment received, giving the Group a much-needed additional revenue stream. The Group was also very fortunate to receive a £5000 donation from the EnQuest 011r￿, as one of the workers chosen charities. Investigations have now been started to source a trailer, for use as a welfare and control unit.
