FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025
Structure, Governance and Management: OSAIS is a charity limited by guarantee and received
charitable status in October 2013. It is governed by the Articles of Association last updated in June 2013.
Organlsatlonal Structure
The trustees are responsible for the general management of the charity and ensuring that all legal
requirements are met. The trustees receive no remuneration or other financial benefits. The trustees have
appointed ACT (Azhari Consultancy & Training) to rnanage the daily operation of OSA15. A￿ has set up a
management strurture, which consists of a management team (Shoora Team) and general volunteers from
the student body. ACT ensures that those that are working for OSAIS are trained and supported to efficientlv
carry out their duties to Meet the objectives set out in the Articles of A550ciation.
OSAIS has an AGM every year. The trustees have two formal meetinES annually. ACT has had several
meetings throughout the year with the various teams. All meetings are documented.
Appointment and Training of Trustees
Trustees appoint a new trustee by norninating candidates based on their commitment and understanding of
the ethos and vision of OSAIS and their availability. OSAIS trustees are committed to ensure that there is an
equal representation of male and female trustees. The School Council and School students are consulted on
the appointment of new trustees. Voting takes place amongst the trustees and they are added according to
the majority. Potential trustees are invited to attend trustee meetings as observer5 to fully understand the
role of a trustee and OSAIS aims and objectives. When a decision has been finallsed, the selected individual
will be formally contacted by the School Services Team from OSAIS who will formally welcome them as a
trustee. Training of trustees 15 a joint responsibility of Acr, current trustees and the Shoora team.
Objectives
In setting our objectives and planning our activities, the trustees have given careful consideration to the
Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit.
To provide facilities for the provision of Islamic education in Manchester as well a5 nationally.
Setup and engage in interfaith and community activities to promote and support social cohesion within
Manchester, and the surrounding areas.
- To provide and maintain a building used for educational and community purposes in Manchester.
To engage and support the positive work done by other Muslim institutes and communities who are also
working for the betterment and community relations of the wider society in the UK.
Our objectlve5 are set to reflect our educational aims and the ethos of OSAIS and along with our actlvitles
and developments, they are reviewed bi-annually {In-person Shoora) by the management teams.

The focus of our work
Acadernlc
OSAIS provides Islamic education to adult and young Muslim learners locally through classes based in Old
Trafford and nationally via online facilities.
The adult classes range from foundation to an advanced level. A number of OSAIS teachers manage the
delivery of the academic courses offered by OSAIS. Some of these courses include Ilm Al-Tajweed1Science of
Intonation) and Arabic including to GCSE level. A full list is available on the website which can be found at

• OSAIS also has a department for education of young people known as The Azhari Madrasat (TAM) which
offers Islamic studies and extra curricular activities for children from the age of 10 years and above.
OSAIS also offers Day Studies and short courses which take place throughout the year. Examples of such
Days Studies include Medical Ethics, Principles of Research, Citizenship and Arbitration.
Current Events
OSAIS courses are delivered online as well as in-person in various localities as well as at the OSAIS Centre.
Students from all over the UK are studying with OSAIS through student teachers with the support of A￿.
Educational courses such as Ilm Al-Tajweed (Science of Intonation) and Arabic Language are continued to be
delivered by Student Teachers in collaboration with Acr.
Training courses such as the ST (Student Teachers) Inset and the In-Person Shoora (OSAIS Management
Team Meeting) also take place which serve the purpose of reviewing all OSAIS activities as well as working
collectively on further development and planning. These were delivered with the support of ACT.
There are Tazkiyat Halaqats (learning and discussion circle5) which take place monthly on Friday evenings for
brothers and weekly on Saturday mornings for sisterfs. These take place at the OSAIS ￿ntre and provide
young learners with an opportunity for self development and growth.
OSAIS facilitated the following short courses this year:
l. Ilm al-Aqeedah Day study- A day study on Islamic theology was delivered in February 2025
2. The Azhari Madrasat - Open Day for new students and parents took place on 25th January 2025
Parent Governor/Assembly in Schools Webinar delivered in February 2025
4. Introduction to Siyaam and Tazkiyat Day Study took place in February 2025 *
5. Introduction to Tazkiyat (Spiritual Purification) and Nafl I'tikaaf (Spiritual seclusion) A 2 day study
of Spiritual purification focu5sing on spiritual secluslon in Ramadhan took place In March 2025
6. Ilm Al Aqeedat Shoora Q&A session Nov 2024 (understanding and Q&A session about the Articles of
faith in Islam)

18. Shoora and Imaarat Day Study part 3 of 3 took place on 26th May 2024.
19. Shoora and Imaarat Day Study part 2 of 3 took place on the 21st April 2024.
Non-Academlc
Extra-curricular activities have included community events, as well as with College and University socletles.
Various meetings have been or8anised with Scholars who en8a8e in bettering communlty relations through
Interfaith and talks to the general public. OSAIS have attended events in Oldham, Birmingham and Cardiff.
Eld Ul-Fltr party wa5 held Sn Aprll 2024. Eld Al Adha gatherlng was held In July 2024.
Review of Activities and Achievements
Development
The next plans are to ralse funds for the refurbishment of the basement into a fully functional room
with more fa¢ilitie5. The exact details are still being discussed and will be considered through more
consultation from the managing teams. Some renovations have taken place such as updating of the
sign at the front of the building.

l is fully running now and is u pdated regularly. It is
hoped this will allow 8reater efficiency for students and those working in OSAIS and also allow the
general publlc to learn more about the ethos of OSAIS.
Future Plans
Expanding of the school has started although this is in the early 5ta8es at the moment. Student
teachers are currently working on forming sub teams to manage and operate local centres in various
locations throughout the UK. This is in the plannin8 process and is a gradual process which is
reviewed twice per year in the Shoora team biannua5 meetings Iln-person Shoora).
There have been some discussions on renovating the basement and these are still in discussion.
Some maintenance work will also be done to internal and external parts of the building which
require updati ng.
To promote the availability of the OSAIS centre for community activitles, Nikkah Iweddingl
ceremonies, and educatlonal artivlties and to allow easler payment of the outstanding payments on
the purchased buildln8.
To plan and arrange more non-academic and extracurricular activities for adults and children to bring
communities together in a p051tive environment.
