To promote social inclusion among people with Down's Syndrome and their parents and families, who may be excluded from society, or parts of society due to their disability, by: Providing recreational facilities and opportunities for people with Down's Syndrome and their families Raising public awareness of the issues affecting people with Down's Syndrome, and their families, both generally and in relation to their social exclusion; To advance education of people with Down's Syndrome and the public in the subject of Down's Syndrome. To provide education, training, information and help to parent/carers with the object of empowering them to enhance our members lives and assist their development |

The main activities are to facilitate support for members in their everyday living, and with new challenges they may face, inclusive of the following: Social Events We host a range of fun activities throughout the year where families can meet new friends and share their experiences. Training events for family members and professionals to ensure that all those supporting people with Down’s Syndrome have access to the most up to date knowledge and skills, so our members receive the best care possible. |
Individual Support We also provide 1:1 support for families when they need some assistance to deal with challenging times. Fundraising Events We prioritise raising awareness within our communities and regularly hold events to promote greater understanding of Down’s Syndrome. Para 1.20 | During the reporting period, The North East Lincolnshire Family Support Group has undertaken the following activities and services for the benefit of people members and their families: Bingo Night Christmas Fair (raising over £1800 to help towards our Christmas Party) Rand Farm Summer Barbeque Production and sale of a Calendar of our some of our members Fortnightly gymnastics sessions with Grimsby Twist and Flip Various social events throughout the year (bowling and cinema trips) Festive Christmas Experience at Rand Farm Park all Yearly Pantomine trip (oh yes we did!) Para 1.21 | During the reporting period, this is The North East Lincolnshire Down's Syndrome Family Support Group financial summary: In total the yearly income was £25,610.89. Thanks in no small part to the charities generous supporters, as well as the two challenge events (National Three Peaks Challenge and Sponsored Bike Ride) and calendar sales and income from our Christmas Fair. We were also nominated by Grimsby Netball team to be their charity of the year. Total outgoings for running costs, social events hosting, training events was £17496.73. The main expenditure being the social events we hold throughout the year, The end of year bank balance stands at £35,635.75 |
