Annual Report: International Gay Rugby (April 2024 – April 2025)
The period from April 2024 to April 2025 marked a significant chapter for International Gay Rugby (IGR), featuring major tournaments, expanding membership, and continued advocacy for LGBTQ+ inclusion in rugby.
Looking ahead, IGR announced that the 2026 Bingham Cup will be hosted by the Brisbane Hustlers Rugby Union Football Club in August 2026 in Australia. This marks the first time the tournament will be held in the Southern Hemisphere since Sydney hosted in 2014, demonstrating IGR's continued global expansion.
Throughout the year, IGR continued to support and promote various local tournaments, fostering a sense of community and belonging among players and supporters. Our efforts have not only raised the profile of inclusive rugby but also inspired countless individuals to embrace the sport and its values. Where new clubs have been created in in all corners of the globe.
We have also been advocating the rights of LGBTQ people to be playing rugby no matter their gender. We look forward to building on this momentum in the coming year, furthering our commitment to inclusivity and diversity in rugby.

With major events scheduled across Europe, North America, and the Asia-Pacific, IGR continued to expand its reach while maintaining its core mission of promoting LGBTQ+ inclusion in rugby union.
