Create has continued to provide classes at west wickham for the last academic year. Create has done no fundraising this last year due to ill health, we are hopeful to continue at the beginning of 2026.

Create has been supplying free and reduced fee classes at West Wickham. Over 50 children take part each academic term. Learning various genres of dance.

This last year Create Projects Studio has extended an invitation to Ukrainian refugees, as well as refugees from other countries, to participate in their dance classes. In addition to supporting adult refugees, the studio has also built strong connections with local schools to offer free dance classes to children who receive free school meals. This initiative aims to create an inclusive and supportive environment where both refugees and disadvantaged children can explore the joys of dance, regardless of their financial circumstances. By collaborating with local schools, Create Projects Studio not only provides a creative outlet but also fosters a sense of community and belonging, helping participants to build confidence, express themselves, and find joy through movement. Through these efforts, the studio seeks to enhance the emotional and mental wellbeing of all participants, offering a positive space for healing and growth.

It has been a challenging yet transformative period for our dance-based charity, particularly as we navigate the ongoing recovery from the impact of the global pandemic. We have remained committed to our mission of providing underprivileged children and young people with access to the transformative power of dance, and we are excited to share our accomplishments and plans for the future.

Recovery from Covid:

In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have taken significant steps towards recovery. We have implemented comprehensive health and safety measures to ensure the wellbeing of our participants and staff. Through adapting our programs, embracing remote learning, and gradually resuming in-person classes, we have successfully provided a sense of continuity and stability to our beneficiaries during these uncertain times.

Create Projects Studio has secured a new school to hire. This expansion allows us to accommodate a larger number of students and broaden our reach within the community. The new space provides a nurturing environment that fosters creativity and growth, and we are excited to utilize it to its fullest potential.

Street Classes for Families:

Acknowledging the current cost of living crisis faced by many families, we have established street classes to provide accessible dance education to those in need. Some families will receive these classes free of charge, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their children's access to the arts. Through these street classes, we strive to empower young individuals, build their confidence, and foster a sense of community spirit.

Primary Ballet Classes:

In addition to our street classes, we continue to offer primary ballet classes to children at a reduced rate. By making ballet education more affordable, we aim to break down barriers and allow more young dancers to experience the joy and discipline of this classical form. These classes provide a solid foundation in ballet technique and instill a lifelong appreciation for the art form.

Looking towards the future, Create Projects Studio is dedicated to providing further opportunities for our students. We are excited to announce the development of a young persons ballet company. This initiative will enable talented young dancers to showcase their skills and creativity on a larger stage, as they have the opportunity to perform in a professional theatre setting. This valuable experience will enhance their artistic growth and inspire their passion for dance. We will be applying for funding via the National Lottery to make this possible.

Conclusion:

While there are still challenges ahead, we remain steadfast in our commitment to making dance accessible and inclusive for all. We look forward to another year of empowering young individuals, nurturing their talents, and creating a brighter future through the art of dance.
