|||||to us escalated<br>beyond<br>all expectation.<br>This situation was||
|||||exacerbated<br>by the fact that sourcing food became an||
|||||almost impossible task as the public panic bought<br>in||
|||||supermarkets,<br>made supermarket<br>delivery slots||
|||||unattainable<br>and the supermarkets<br>unwilling<br>to assist to||
|||||provide food in the quantities<br>that were now needed. This||
|||||was particularly<br>frustrating<br>as the funds to purchase<br>were||
|||||available,<br>but supplies<br>offood were not. We were||
|||||fortunate<br>that our good relationship<br>with other||
|||||organisations,<br>such as the Salvation<br>Army and wholesale||
|||||food companies,<br>meant that we were able to work||
|||||together to address this concerning<br>issue.||
|||||The London Borough ofWaltham<br>Forest were able to||
|||||benefit from our expertise to assist with the increased||
|||||demand<br>placed on them to provide emergency<br>food aid.||
