(b) To advance the education of children living in Lambeth and the surrounding area by the provision of supplementary education. **TAR** September **2021** 2 Facilitating congregational prayers for the Muslim community in West Norwood Ramadan Activities, including evening meal and night prayers, Fundraising for external charities, Partaking in local community events, Youth activities, I can confirm that the trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit and that our work is in accordance to working for the Public benefit. **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** ## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)** You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about: - policy on grant making; - policy programme related investment; - contribution made by volunteers. **TAR** September **2021** 3 Section D Achievements and performance **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** Our volunteers and the foundations that we have laid down in West Norwood have continued to help the community in this difficult year. West Norwood Islamic Centre was closed briefly during the first and second lockdowns in 2020, however was open again in the interim and aims to remain open thereafter. Due to Covid-19 lockdown and restrictions through most of 2020, we were unable to provide any further activities or special events for the community. We have had discussions with members of the community in furthering our work, once the Covid-19 restrictions have eased and there is an easier movement of people and less control on numbers of people meeting, both indoors and outdoors. We aim to resume our work and bring back benefit to the community. **TAR** September **2021** 4 ## **Section E Financial review** All income that is generated by WNMCP is spent as and when it is **Brief statement of the** needed. We may accrue reserves over a period of time, but this is not at **charity’s policy on reserves** an expense of withholding funds from our day to day activities. Our fundraising is for the general purposes of the Charity, unless stated otherwise. In the case of specific fundraising, we set aside these restricted funds and use them accordingly without haste.
