## **Objectives and activities** 

To advance the Christian religion for the benefit of the public in accordance with this statement of belief. 

Providing a place of worship for all who wish to attend, provide facilities for religious education and training that would benefit the member and non-member of the Church and the wider community. 

Engaging in missionary work and the training of workers, both men and women, to teach principles of the gospel, locally regionally and internationally. ministering to the sick visiting those in hospitals, prisons and other outreach work as listed in the articles of the constitution. 

Encouraging and supporting pastoral work. 

Developing training/workshops classes for children and young people. 

Promoting the study of religious teaching, practises, and scriptures. 

We provide weekly services for members of the community. We provide social support for the community e.g., helping families in need. Worked with local partners to support the community at Christmas Supported local families with hampers at Christmas and during the new year. 

We provided community space to local groups. 

## **Governance and management** 

The organisation is operated under the rules of its constitution most recently amended on 30 September 2018. 

## **Public Benefit** 

The trustees of the Charity are aware of the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit and have had regard to it in their administration of the Charity. 

## **Summary of the main activities undertaken** 

* Sunday services and other social activities are held in the building as well as on the Zoom platform. 

- Growing partnership and dialogue with community groups and other organisations in order to improve our services to the community. 

- Support families in need. 

- Organise regular visits for the sick in their homes, nursing homes and hospital. 

- Provide support to families and the elderly via local schools and a local Day Centre. 

- Provide various other services to the local community.

## **Risks and risk management** 

We have policies in place for vulnerable persons. 

Our volunteers are all DBS checked, and we provide training and support for them. 

Policies are in place to protect the assets of the charity. 

The charity has built up a good networking system and works with other charities and community organisations. 

The greatest risk is financial, but we do our best to fund raise to sustain the charity.

The trustees maintain a reserve adequate for the sustainability of the charity.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report** 

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the St Michael’s Community Church for the year ended 31 March 2025. 

As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Independent Examiner’s statement** 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: 

 accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or; 

 the accounts do not accord with the accounting records 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

## **3. Trustees and related parties’ remuneration and expenses.** 

No trustees received remuneration during the period. 

The Pastor of the church was re-imbursed £3,240 of expenses in connection with their pastoral duties. 

## **4. Reserves Policy** 

£6,854 has been ring fenced to make sure that we have sufficient funds to honour financial commitments.
