Welcome again.
Here is to other exiting season, thank you for choosing Kewford Eagles football to start or continue your football journey.
Firstly, can I personally thank all the committee members for all the hard work for last season and getting us to this point a club wouldn’t go a head without volunteers So “thank you all”
We currently stand at 64 teams only down by 3 teams from last season which is massive achievement.
13 months I stood here taking on the role of chairman and I wanted to make a difference, small changes to the club.
If look at what we have done over this short space of time such as - Building on and Improving facilities for our grassroots football teams, the coaches, the players and their families isn’t easy and most of the time comes with expensive costs. However, the committee at Kewford refuse to let this stop us and in the last 13 months, we have achieved a great deal.

Kewford eagles’ Girls/Ladies
Kewford eagles girls/ladies’ section is going from strength to strength.
This year we have had a visit from the FA in recognition of all the work we do to encourage females to play at the club and to grow the girl’s section.
We now have 200 females registered with the club for this season
Girls team of the year was awarded to the U9. girls in recognition of the fantastic season they had. The girls showed great passion and determination and became the strongest team in their league group, going on to win tournaments demonstrating great teamwork and spirit.
Wildcats has recently ended, and over the summer we saw around 30 girls aged 5-11 attend the sessions. We all received excellent feedback, and the girls enjoyed learning new skills and making new friends. Thanks to all the volunteers from the girl’s section who made this possible. There was a fabulous end of season party, and all the girls were awarded certificates by Ellis the Eagle and a party in the eagles nest.
A new under 7 girls’ team is now in the process of being set up and thanks to Jon and new coach Shell who will be supporting the girls on their football journey.
The ladies’ team are off to a good start this season and won their first game against Chelmsley. The ladies have strengthened the team and gained some additional players for the season. Lis has joined the coaching team supporting Tara and Chris. The U15 girls enjoyed a coaching session with the ladies this week to raise their aspirations and strengthen their journey to ladies football at the club.
5 girls from the club attended the young leaders course to develop their skills, build their confidence and find out more about coaching and careers in sport. One of our young people compleated her 10 hours at the club volunteering at the wildcats session. Young leaders also assisted with setting up the club survey which helped them to see how the club website is developed and to expland their skills and knowledge of other aspects of the club.
The turn up and play ladies are going strong and we have a core group of regular players who are enjoying playing the beautiful game. If anyone would like to join, it's an open invite to play on Wednesdays 7-8pm (Ellowes hall October) There was great fun this week at Eagle park when the U9 girls took on their mums in a fundraising match.
The girl’s waiting list is available on the website should anyone be looking for teams and feel free to contact Maire the girls Secretary for any enquiries.
Supported ability update
The supported ability/pan disability section is now the biggest it's been in nearly 10 years, with over 60 players registers, from ages 6 to above 50. We still meet on Sunday mornings, across U12, U16 and adults’ groups, and for the first time in recent memory, we're pretty much full. Huge thanks and credit to the coaching team of Mark, Dan, Dan and Sam for all their work. We're also taking one or two enquiries from within other Kewford teams as to players who may need additional support and are happy to do so.
(Kewford family) I use these words, because I feel over the last few seasons, I think we have come little disjointed from a committee to coaches, and I want that to change. We are all volunteers, and all want the same things football for all in a safe environment.
I want the committee to be here to help, support and listen to you and the parents, in return
you are asked to, respect all, learn, support your players, respect the code of conduct of the club.
If have anyone concerns about anyone at Kewford parents, coaches, committee, I ask you to come to me, but believe me they all have Kewford and your best interest at heart.
Here’s to the next 12 months!
Plan for next year-
-
Again, to top dress additional pitches to help improve the playing surface and drainage.
-
Start work on the paddock, once the lease is sorted, we are in continue talks about with highways and council about access road.
-
Development of the kitchen/ bar ready for the start of next season.
-
Access road leading out of Eagles Park.
-
All the committee will be doing spot checks on you and your teams.
