The Ringlestone Residents Association has the right to have one trustee appointed to the charity. The two are working closely together to raise the funds to build a Church and Community Centre.

2 Trustees moved away and so resigned as of December 2021. A 3[rd] trustee also resigned as had not been active.

Section C Objectives and activities
The objects of the CIO are:
Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document

(1) To benefit the residents of Ringlestone, Springfield and the surrounding neighbourhood, in particular but not exclusively, children, young people, families, vulnerable adults and the elderly by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, St. Faith’s Church, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare and for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents, for the benefit of the public.

(2) To establish or secure the establishment of a community centre and to maintain or manage or co-operate with any statutory authority in the maintenance and management of such a centre for activities promoted by the charity in furtherance of the above objects.

(3) To advance the Christian religion for the benefit of the public.

(4) Any other object that is exclusively charitable under the laws of England and Wales.

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

Once costings were received, commitment to go ahead with the build, and for HB Homes to be the main contractor
-
Many hours spent clearing Ringlestone Hall, arranging for storage or disposal of items, and inviting members of the local community to purchase or take surplus equipment or goods

A social gathering was held on October 2[nd] , prior to the handover of the site, inviting local residents to come and share memories of its history and their time in the building
-
Made arrangements for current hall hirers to transfer their activities to the hall at St Faith’s church in the town centre, with the assurance that they will be welcome to return when the new building is completed

Ringlestone Hall Trust transferred legally to Canterbury Diocese, with objects governing use of the site for the community protected for the future

Handover date of site to contractor October 4[th ] Hall and Vicarage demolished and foundation work started

Grant applications continued to be made towards the cost of building the Centre
-
On December 16[th] as the Hall had been demolished, a Christmas event was held at the Flowerpot pub locally to which all members of the community were invited
The trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit and have sought to follow it in their activities.

- A weekly parent and toddler group run by volunteers from the church and local community continued to be run from Ringlestone Hall once Covid restrictions were lifted, and then transferred to St Faith’s church after the site was handed over

Much effort has been expended, primarily by Canon Arthur Houston, on identifying and applying for grants, including support from Maidstone Borough Council.

Section D Achievements and performance

The charity has continued to work closely with St Faith’s Church and the Ringlestone Residents Association throughout the year for the benefit of the residents of Ringlestone, Springfield and the surrounding neighbourhood in order to make the new centre a reality.

Continuing support from the local County Councillor has been significant and much appreciated.

The building of the new Centre has begun

Several substantial grants have been received towards the cost of the building project and further applications made
