The Ringlestone Residents Association has the right to have one trustee appointed to the charity. The two are working closely together to raise the funds to build a Church and Community Centre.
The Vicar, who is an automatic trustee of the Charity, came in March 2015

Section C Objectives and activities
The objects of the CIO are:
Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document

(1) To benefit the residents of Ringlestone, Springfield and the surrounding neighbourhood, in particular but not exclusively, children, young people, families, vulnerable adults and the elderly by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, St. Faith’s Church, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare and for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents, for the benefit of the public.

(2) To establish or secure the establishment of a community centre and to maintain or manage or co-operate with any statutory authority in the maintenance and management of such a centre for activities promoted by the charity in furtherance of the above objects.

(3) To advance the Christian religion for the benefit of the public.

(4) Any other object that is exclusively charitable under the laws of England and Wales.

Some of the activities undertaken during the past year have been somewhat curtailed because of the Covid Pandemic lockdown from March 2020 and most of the social groups and various organisations were unable to use the hall.
However progress was made as far as the building of the new Centre is concerned.

Planning application submitted to Maidstone Borough Council by our architect

The Charity worked closely with a building consultant to work on cost planning for the new Centre

The trustees agreed the name of the new Centre should be “St Faith’s Centre”

A designer was commissioned to produce a logo, branding and the design of a coloured brochure, giving details of the planned Centre.

Summary of the main The brochure was delivered to all residents of Ringlestone activities undertaken for and Springfield in September, inviting contributions in the public benefit in money and skills. Offers of practical and financial help relation to these objects were received. Throughout the year most activities had to be conducted via Zoom, including trustee meetings, and the year ended with a virtual Christmas Service on Zoom where candles had been distributed throughout the community and people were invited to attend the service and light their candles.

Volunteers from both the church and local community have continued to fundraise for the charity with a particular focus on the Gift Day in October.

Searches were made to identify a range of grant-making trusts who could be approached. A meeting was held online with one Trust to further the application and other submissions were made.

Section D Achievements and performance
The charity has continued to work closely with St Faith’s Church and the Ringlestone Residents Association throughout the year for the benefit of the residents of Ringlestone, Springfield and the surrounding neighbourhood in order to make the new centre a reality.
Continuing support from the local County Councillor has been significant and much appreciated in addition to a grant towards the cost of the soil tests.

A successful bid for Developer Contribution was made to Maidstone Borough Council, and the first tranche of the grant received in December
Although most of the activities during the year were severely hampered by the pandemic, work on the project to build the new Centre continued to take place.

A Gift Day was held in October which raised over £100,000.

Maidstone Borough Council has supported the project with a Community Facilities Grant from developer contributions

Grant applications were made to a variety of trusts; we are awaiting the outcome of these.

We continue to explore further sources of major funding grants.

St Faith’s Church has committed significant funds from the sale of a church house, and the Church Commissioners have agreed to the proceeds from the sale of St Faith’s Church itself to go towards the building of St Faith’s Centre, when the sale goes through.

Real progress has been made towards the building of St Faith’s Centre which we have been striving towards for many years and it is hoped construction will begin in 2021.
