Some of the activities undertaken during the past year have been somewhat curtailed because of the Covid Pandemic lockdown from March 2020 and most of the social groups and various organisations were unable to use the hall.

However progress was made as far as the building of the new Centre is concerned.

The trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit and have sought to follow it in their activities.

Some of the activities undertaken during the past year, until suspended due to the pandemic have been :  ‘Messy Church’ activities for local families  A weekly parent and toddler group run by volunteers from the church and local community.  Other regular community group bookings up until March

Throughout the year most activities had to be conducted via Zoom, including trustee meetings, and the year ended with a virtual Christmas Service on Zoom where candles had been distributed throughout the community and people were invited to attend the service and light their candles.

Searches were made to identify a range of grant-making trusts who could be approached. A meeting was held online with one Trust to further the application and other submissions were made.

Section D Achievements and performance

The charity has continued to work closely with St Faith’s Church and the Ringlestone Residents Association throughout the year for the benefit of the residents of Ringlestone, Springfield and the surrounding neighbourhood in order to make the new centre a reality.

Continuing support from the local County Councillor has been significant and much appreciated in addition to a grant towards the cost of the soil tests.
