## **Trustees' annual report** 

The trustees present their annual report and the receipts and payments accounts of AMETHYST FAMILY FOUNDATION for the year ended 1 December 2024. 

## **Objectives and activities** 

The charitable object of the CIO is: 

_“To relieve the needs of families who are in need by reason of age, youth, disability, ill health, financial hardship or social or economic circumstances in such ways as the trustees shall think fit, including the provision of advice, information, education and training, mediation, counselling and support as well as helping people meet their own needs in society.”_ 

The charity is established for general charitable purposes, education and training, the prevention or relief of poverty, and economic and community development and employment. Its beneficiaries include children and young people, other defined groups and the general public, principally throughout London. 

## **Public benefit** 

In planning the charity’s activities, the trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. 

## **Activities, achievements and performance** 

The charity was inactive throughout the year ended 1 December 2024. No income was received and no expenditure was incurred. 

## **Financial review** 

The receipts and payments account records total receipts of £0 and total payments of £0. The resulting net movement in cash funds was £0. 

Cash funds brought forward were £0 and cash funds carried forward were £0. No other assets or liabilities were reported at the year end. 

## **Reserves policy and going concern** 

At the year end the charity held no cash reserves and had no reported liabilities or financial commitments. The trustees consider that the accounts have been appropriately prepared on a going-concern basis, although future charitable activity will depend on securing appropriate resources. 

## **Structure, governance and management** 

AMETHYST FAMILY FOUNDATION is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation using the Foundation model. It was registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales on 26 September 2013 and is governed by its constitution. Trustees are appointed in accordance with the constitution. 

## **Risk management and internal controls** 

The trustees are responsible for identifying and reviewing the principal risks to which the charity is exposed and for maintaining proportionate systems and controls to safeguard the charity’s assets and provide reasonable assurance against fraud and error. The charity’s registered policies include complaints handling, conflicts of interest, investment, paying staff, risk management, safeguarding vulnerable beneficiaries and volunteer management. 

## **Trustee remuneration, expenses and related parties** 

No trustee remuneration, expenses, payments or benefits were recorded during the year. No related-party transactions were reported. 

## **Land and property** 

The Charity Commission register records that the charity owns and/or leases land or property. No monetary asset value, lease commitment or related liability was reported at 1 December 2024. 

## **Trustees' responsibilities** 

The trustees are responsible for preparing the trustees’ annual report and accounts in accordance with applicable charity law. They are also responsible for keeping accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the charity’s transactions and to disclose, with reasonable accuracy, its financial position. The trustees are responsible for safeguarding the charity’s assets and for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
