The Trustees present their report and the financial statements for the year ended 1st December 2023.
Activities and Review
The objects of AMETHYST FAMILY FOUNDATION are:
- (a) TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF FAMILIES WHO ARE IN NEED BY REASON OF AGE, YOUTH, DISABILITY, ILL HEALTH, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL OR ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES IN SUCH WAYS AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL THINK FIT, INCLUDING THE PROVISION OF ADVICE, INFORMATION, EDUCATION AND TRAINING, MEDIATION, COUNSELLING AND SUPPORT AS WELL AS HELPING PEOPLE MEET THEIR OWN NEEDS IN
Structure, Governance and Management
AMETHYST FAMILY FOUNDATION is a charitable organisation registered with the Charity Commission under registration number 1153974.
The charity is controlled by its governing document, a deed of trust, and constitutes an unincorporated charity.
Review of the Year
The charity had a deficit of £0 during the year under review.
Risk Management
The trustees have a duty to identify and review the risks to which the charity is exposed and to ensure appropriate controls are in place to provide reasonable assurance against fraud and error.
It is the policy of the board, taking account of the level of grants receiveable from various funders, to seek each year to match income and expenditure and to avoid accumulating a deficit, such that Amethyst Family Foundation is able to continue successfully its work.
Trustees’ Responsibilities
Charity law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial Year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the surplus or deficit of the charity for that period. In preparing those financial statements, the Trustees are required to

select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently;

make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;

state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements;

prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charitable company and to enable it to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011. It is also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
