CHW supports children and young people in developing parts of the
worfd, through giving grants to partner org8nisations. which work with
children and young people every day. Grants are given to projects which
relieve financial hardship. advance education, relieve sickness and
promote go()J health and offer recreational activities which develop the
children's young people's ski119 and capabilities.

Throughoul this year, CHW raised funds to be able lo give grants lo our
partner org8nisations in Argentina. Ghana, China, Romani8 and South
Afr￿a.
This included funding for the provision of food, care, dolhing. medical
treatment and therapies. educational materials. shelter. skills
development workshops, tuition fees. support for care and leaching Staff.
and other resources and equipment for projects concerning education.
health and disabilities.
The needs at our partner organisations greatly increased during the
pandemic. as the lockdowns around the wodd affected the economy. and
the levd of povety rose. We have been able to respond. to continue to
help the children and youn9 people during th8se challenging times.

Sorne of (yjr partner organisations 8re still running projects that were
started during the pandemic. such as food relief programmes. as the
levels of povety remain high. Most have been able lo reopen, following
any new health and safety protocols, and we have been able to support
th￿r existing programmes again too.
Our pather organisations in Romania were affected by the crisis in
Ukraine and some began to help refugee families (mostly children and
th￿r mothers). We were able to respond, to supp¢xt the prowsion of food,
sheller and other basic needs for refugee faMil￿s.
The Trustees met every three months, via video conferencing, to review
requests, updates and feedback from the recipient organisats'ons and are
satisfied that CHW'S grants bring benefits lo poor and vulnerable children
and young people in developing parts of the world. The Trustees have
had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission, including
the guidance on public benefit. charities working intemalionally..
safeguarding in intemational ahl., and the Ukraine humanitarian crisis.

started. Two instalments were sent and the total given was.. £1231.04.
Challenging Heights. Ghana- Sponsorship of skills workshops (sewing
and carpentry) for older teenagers. who had been rescued from slavery
in the fishing irwJustry- £510.
FAST, Romania.. Support for Ukrainian refvgee families Imosuy children
and their mothers). including shelter. food, medical costs and other basic
needs: £2500.
Fundacion Cordob8sa de Equinot8rapia, Argentina.. Sponsorship of tsn
mwths, worth of horse-assisted therapy sessions for a three-year-old
boy with tuberous sclerosis. including resources for the therapy horses,
providing Ihis service for the child￿n. £775.
Mana p￿School, South Africa.. Assistance with mattresses, pillows,
fridge, a microwave and art supplies: £510.
Mana Preschool. South Africa: A chest freezer for food sup￿les..

Mana Preschool, South Africa: Further art materials for the children:

Mana Preschool, South Africa: Teaching desk: £58.58.
Mano$ Abiertas, Argentina: Assistance towards treatment for a five-year-
old boy at their centre. Instalments were sent throughout the year and the
tolal given was: £151.
Manos Abiertas, Argentina: Help towards sponsorfng a caregwer for thelr
home. to work with babies and children. aged O to 5. vtho have been
removed from their families due to abuse or neglect. Some of the original
caregivers were shielding during the pandemic. Two instalments were
senl and the tolal given was.. £1339.
Meyah Preparatory School. Ghana.. Partial sponsorship of leachers to
work with the children.. £1010.
New Lrfe International. Ghana.. Food and supplies for a Christmas party
held for 100 children from New Life's home and the surrounding villages-

Refugiu, Romania: Sponsoring school supplies (such as books and
stationery). and clothes and shoes for 22 children at the start of the
hool year. £1036.
Refugiu, Romania: Winter coats and boots for 22 children: £834.46.
Rooikappie Preschool Centre, South Africa: Sponsoring the staff to work
with the children for one month: £397.31.
Stepping Stones. China: Sponsoring teaching materials for educational
programmes run for migrant children in Shanghai and also
disadvantaged children in rural areas. Three instalments were sent
throughout th8 year and the total given was.. £2294.38.
The Future Factory, South Africa.. Sponsorship of food for a programm8
serwng families in disadvantaged areas of Cape Town. This initiative was
Started in response to the pandemic lockdowns. Instalments were
sent throughout the year and the total given was: £2553.73.
The following ongoing grants were given:
New Lrfe Intemational, Ghana: Sponsorship scheme, supporting fcod or
educational costs for children. Instalments were sent throughout the year
and the lotal given was- £5625.08.
Refugiu, Romania: Sponsorship of food and essential supplies for lyrt)
families in the village of Tarfungeni. The fathers of both families have
passed away and one of the families has eleven children. The total given
was: £450.

CHVV aims to keep in reserve sufficient funding for the charity to continue
njnning for al least six months. in the case of no further unrestricted
income being received. This covers the monthly bank charge, as well as
