CHW supports children and young people in developing parts of the
wortd. through giving grants lo partner organisabons. which work with
children and young people every day. Grants are given to projects which
relieve finanual hardship. advance education, relieve sickness and
promote good health and offer recreational activities whith develop the

Throughout this year, CHW raised funds to be able to give grants lo our
pather organisations in Argentina, Ghana. China. Romanha and South
Africa. This included funding for the provision of food. Personal Protective
Equipment, hygiene products, medical treatment, educational materials,
school chairs and desks. tuitKJn fees. support for care and teaching staff.
and resources for projects conceming health and disabilty.
The needs at our pather organisations greatly increased during the
pandemic. as the bckdowns around the world affected the economy, and
the level of povety rose. We have been able to respond. to continue to
help the thildren and young people during this challenging time. Since
the pandemic started, more of our partner organisations have asked for
help with ongoing programmes. such as food diStribut￿*n or support for
the continuing costs of care or shelter. rather than one-off proi8cts.

The Trustees met every three months. via video conferencing, to review
requests, updates and feedback from the recipient organisations and are
satlsfied that CHWS grants bring benefits to poor and vulnerable children
and young people in developing parts of the wodd and places where
there are h￿Jh levels of inequality. The Trustees have had regard to the
guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public b8nefit and on
charities working internationally.

The following grants were given during this year..
Casa Mea, Romania.. Sponsorship of running costs during the lockdown.
Instalments were sent and the total given was.. £3081.
Casa Mea. Romania.. Sponsorship of a part time ￿Cial worker to work
with the thildren for slx months: £648.
FAST. Romania: Sponsorship towards buying and installing wndows in a
new ￿MMunity centre that is being built for children and families in Zizin..
£1000.
Fundacion Cordobesa de Equinoterapia. Argentina: Sponsoring horse-
asslsted therapy sesslons for a thlld wlth d1sabllll￿s. £650.
Manos Abiert2s, Argentina.. Sponsoring a caregiver for their home. to
work with babies and children, aged O to 5, who have been removed from
their families due to abuse or neglect. Some of the original caregivers
were shielding during the pandemic. Instalments were sent throughout
the year and the total given was: £3169.
Manos Abiertas, Argentina.. Treatment for a baby and a child at their
home. Instalments were sent throughout the year and the total given was:
£304.
New Life Intemational, Ghana: Food supplies and hygiene products for
families in the local community. during the pandemic. The children of
these families all attend New Lrfe's school. The total given was: £920.
New Ltfe International, Ghana: Food and supplies for a Christmas party
held for 100 children from New Llfe's home and the surroundlng villages:
£447.
New Lrfe Int8mational, Ghana- Assistance with water bills during the
pandemic. for their home and sthool.. £390.
New Life Intemational, Ghana= Tuition fees for a first-year universty
student reading Estimation and Quantity SuNeying: £139.
New Life Intemational, Ghana: Tuition fees for a first-year university
student reading Tourism Management.. £205.
Newness Preparatory School, Ghana (linked lo New Life Intematlonal}:
New desks and chairs for the school. The school had been getting
overcrowded, but new desks and chairs were then even more urgently
needed to sel up the classrooms according to new health and safety
protocols. so there was more space be￿￿en the children's places. This
was Sent in two instalments and the total given was.. £3800.
ORT SA CAPE. South Afrlca.. Spongjrlng science and technok)gy
workshops for children, and literacy and science trainings for teachers. in
disadvantaged communf(ies around Cape Town, as well as an additional
food programme, that was started during the pandemic. Instalments wer8
sent throughout the year and the total given was.. £3623.67
Pinocchio Creche. Soulh Africa: Sponsorship of Personal Protective
Equipment for the creche to reopen after the lockdown. This was sent in
two instalmenls and the total

The Future Factory. South Afri￿.. Sponsorship of food for a programme
serving families in disadvantaged areas of Cape Town. This initiative was
started in response to the pandemic and lockdowns. Instalments were
sent throughout the year and the total givèn was.. £4752.58.
Stepping Stones. China: Sponsoring teaching materials for educational
programmes run for migrant thildren in Shanghai. Two instalments were
sent throughout the year and the total given was.. £1551.33.
The following ongoing grants were given..
New Life Intemalional Children's Home. Ghana.. Sponsorship scheme.
supporbng food or educational costs for individual children. Instalmenls
were sent throughout the year and Ihe total given was.. £4420.
Refugiu. Romania= Sponsorship of food and essential supplies for two
families in the village of Tarlungeni. The fathers of both families have
passed away and one of the families has eleven children. The total giNtn
was: £150.

CHW aims to keep in res8rve sufficient funding for the charity to continue
running for at least six months. in the case of no further unrestricted
income being re￿ived. This covers the monthly bank charge. as well as
sufficient funding to pay the bank fees to transfer restricted funding to
