At the beginning of<br>year an Admin/Marketing Assistant was<br>recruited to ensure we were able to manage<br>growth from an administration and raising<br>awareness perspective. It was also important<br>to ensure one of the success factors from the<br>previous year remained consistent i.e., high<br>transparency by regularly sharing project<br>media updates (i.e. results of donations)<br>individually to project sponsors and to the<br>public via 6 social media platforms. This<br>developed trust in the charity and as a result<br>led to increased income through new donors<br>and larger donations.<br>Another reason for an increased income was<br>due to individuals and groups deciding to set<br>up online fundraising pages themselves for us<br>to carry out charitable projects on their behalf.<br>This resulting in multiple income streams<br>without requiring extra fundraising resource<br>from the charity.|





The charity matched the high income with a high-level of spending towards charitable projects. Utilising existing reliable implementing partners and robust governance policies and procedures, we impacted and served more needy people than ever before. The charity was able to educate many more people by providing essential literature and places of study/worship (i.e. Mosques) across the most needy of locations. We were able to build many water wells to provide communities with clean and safe drinking water sources, and we also established tree farms benefiting the needy and the environment. With an increase in staff, income, spending and awareness from the previous year, the charity set to further establish robust governance policies and procedures to ensure they are adequate with the charity’s growth. The charity created 20 new policies covering areas such as Risk Management, Safeguarding, Diversity and Equality, Code of Conduct, Risk Register and Operational policies. There was also a focus on creating HR documentation including an extensive staff handbook and 4 HR process flowcharts detailing the procedures for recruitment, employee onboarding, disciplinary and offboarding. To increase efforts to ensure funds are being utilised for the intended purposes, the charity began arranging for independent monitoring officers to carry out inspections of completed projects and ensure they are being used for intended purposes. These visits were successful, and we look at increasing as the project portfolio also increases.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2021. 

## **Responsibilities and basis of report** 

As the charity trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the 2011 Act'). 

I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Independent examiners statement** 

Since the Charity's gross income exceeded £250,000, your examiner must be a member of a body listed in section 145 of the 2011 Act.  I confirm that I am qualified to undertake the examination by virtue of my membership of , which is one of the listed bodies. 

I have completed my examination.  I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section 130 of the 2011 Act; or 

2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or 

3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair view' which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

## **Basis of accounting** 

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, except for investments which are included at market value and the revaluation of certain fixed assets and in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) ‘Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019)', Financial Reporting Standard 102 the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102), and the Charities Act 2011. 

Seeking Reward Foundation meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102.  Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at historical cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant accounting policy note(s).
