I report to the trustees on my examinalion of the accounts of The Douglas & Joanne Chapman
Animal Trust (the Trust) for the year ended 30 March 2025.
Responslbllities and basis of reporl
As the charty trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in
accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act,).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trustee's accounts carried out under seclion 145 of
the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all Ihe applicable Directions
given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.
Independent examlner's ststement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention
in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect..
11)accounting records were not kept in respect of the Tru51 as required by sectiofi 130 of the
Act; or
(2)the accounts do not accord with Ihose records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination
lo which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of
the accounts to be reached.

To promote humane behaviour towards animals by providing appropriate
care, protection, treatment and securily for animals which are in need of
care and attention by reason of sickness, maltrealment. poor
circumstances or ill usage and to educate the public in matlers pertaining
lo animal welfare in general and the prevention DI cruelty and suflering
among animals in particular but not exclusively by the provision ol grants.

During this period the Trustees made six grant awards to applicants
totalling £29,500 who were able to provide details of specific projects and
those projects satisfied the Trust's charitable objectives.
The Trustees concentrated on applications that would support specific
projects where the invitee had an urgent need and where funds had
already been raised or earmarked.
In running the Trust and planning the grant awards the Trustees have
given careful consideration to the Chartty Commission's guidance on
Public Benefit.

The charity continues to have a good relationship with charilies in the
area who continue to seek financial support lor their projects. This can be
seen by the reoccurrence of charilies making applications.

The Trustees have adopied a policy to distribute part of the income
accumulated in the previous period as well as income arising in the
current period. but lo maintain a reserve of between £5.000 and £10,000
so they can respond lo any emergency applications for animal
assistance.
