children in poverty stricken Zweletemba in South
Africa. Around 200 school age children are given a
nutritious hot meal every day and attend the site in the
grounds of a school for after school care and help with
homework provided by teachers employed by the

growing vegetables, provision of computers and IT
instruction, football team training and outings to places
like Cape Town and the seaside.

Foundation of £6,000 and donations of £1,885 made by
Cranleigh School.
Therefore the total money raised for the year was
£28,279 (£19,818 in 2021).
EXPENDITURE
Total expenditure for the year was £299 (£173 in 2021).
The expenditure in 2022 and 2021 was almost entirely
made up of bank fees.
GRANTS
We awarded grants of £27,913 to Sinetemba during the

TOTAL FUNDS held at 31 December 2022 were £18,823.
Statement explaining the
policy for holding reserves
stating why they are held
Reserves are held because Sinetemba is reliant on
Elizabeth’s Children Charitable Trust to continue their
work in Zweletemba. Whilst the charity is making every
effort to secure ongoing local funding, there is a
general scarcity in South Africa of funding for day to
day expenses of charities and it has proved difficult to
secure regular support. Elizabeth’s Children Charitable
Trust is holding reserves which can support Sinetemba
for just over 7 months should the donors to Elizabeth’s
Chidren cease making donations. The Trustees feel
that this would enable Sinetemba to cut back their
provision of services to a self-supporting level.
Amount of reserves held £18,823
