The objects of the CIO are
The prevention or relief of wverty in UckfieEd and surrrAJnding areas, with the syM)rt of the
Churche5 in Uckfieid, in particular trmjt not exclusively by".
al providing emergerry f￿d boxes containing thr& day'5 supply of balanced and nutritional

working to prevent or relieve tM)verty"
b} the prowsion of fresh fruit and vegetables with eath fctsd parcel.
c) the provision of or sTgnposting to relevant infonnation and other advisory services
Revlew of Activities during the year to carry out those wrposes (for the publlc benefit)
We have a team of 60 voLunteer5. excluding our Tnfjtees, are all very SLPPOrtive of our charity
and respond th)sitTveiy to the challenges of the day.
During the 2022-2023 year we saw a 53% increase in the nwnber of clients needing support. Our
financial giving continued to be very generous and we are very thankful to those Individuats and
organisations who make regular or one-off donation5.
We received a total of 29953Kg of f(x)d d￿ated during the year. This was an irKrease of 37% on
last year. Public donations remain strong but we have made several bulk f(￿1 purchases to
supplement our 5tod(.
Harvest giving totalled 1325kgs from I￿l schools and thurches.
Our annual stock take tc￿ place ￿ 16th August 21T22. There was 2567.37 in stc￿, valued at
E4492.90.
This finarKial year we fulfilled 1577 yo￿her5. feeding a total of 4329 people, 1922 of whom were
children. The main reason5 people used the focKlbank were due to problerT75 with low income, in
receivlng benefit payments or change5 to their benefits and a number of ill health, including
mental health issues. The cost of li￿ng has had a huge impact with many more people unable to
meet the costs of ev￿ydaY necessities.

Future Plans
With the continuing receipt of food donations and the suptx)rt of val￿teerS we aim to continue
operating the foodbank for as IC￿ as there are people in the town and surrofftding areas that need
our a55iStance. We seek to build strong relationships with our agencies in order that we can sign-
tM)st clients to get the best SUPFX)rt. We anticipate that the 2023-2024 year will c￿tinue to see a
growth in the number of clients needing support.
Our distribution centre has been operating all year and many clients appreciate the optx)rtunity to
share their concems over a cup of tea or coffee. We also offer delivery to housebound clients and
to those Li￿ng in outlying vilLage5.
Declaration
We declare that we rent warehcmjse arKI office space from A5hdown AV, of whTch one of the
Directors is a Trustee of UckfTeld F￿)dbank. We atso declare that we rent the distribution centre
from Uckfield Baptist Church, of which two of their Membw5 are Trustees of UckfFeld Foodbank.
