Durlng the 2021.2022 year we malntalned approxlmately the same number of cllent5 as the prevlous year. We had been expectlng a decrease but thls was not the case. Our flnanclal 8lvln8 contlnued to be very generous and we are very thankful to those Indlvlduals and or8anlsatlons who make regular or one-off donatlon5. We recelved regular donatlons through Vlrgln Money Glvln8 up to December 2021 totalllng 12590.82. We recelved a total of 20247Kg of fd donated durlng the year. Thls was an decrease of 19% on last year. Thls was due to the adthtlonal 5UPPOrt from various supermarkets during the pandemic lockdown. These were not 8lven thls year. Public donatlons remaln stronE. The Harvest remained lower than pre-pandemic but we stlll recelved 1193kgs from some schools and churche5. Our annual stock take took place on 5th October 2021. There was 1436.02kg In stock, valued at £2412.51.
Thi5 financial year we fulfilled 1031 vouchers, feeding a total of 2832 people, 1304 of them children. The main reasons people used the foodbank were due to problems with low income, In receiving benefit payments or change5 to their benefits and a number of ill health, including mental health Tssues. This year most place5 were still cautious about havlng vlsltors but our needs and prov15ion of serylces were adYerti5ed on local radlo and social medla. Future Plans Wlth the continuin8 receipt of food donatlons and the support of volunteers we alm to continue operating the foodbank for as long as there are people In the town and surrounding area5 that need L)ur a5515tance. We seek to build stron8 relationships with our a8encies in order that we can slgn. p)st clients to get the best support. We anticipate that the 2022.2023 year wlll see a further growth in the number of cllents needlng sPOrt. We reopened our distrlbutlon centre In September 2021 but are contlnulng to make some dellverle5 to those in outlying areas. Declaratlon We declare that we rent warehouse and office space from Ashdown AV, of whlch one of the Directors Is a Trustee of Uckfieid Foodbank. We also declare that we rent the dlstrlbutlon centre from Uckfleld 8apt15t Church, of which two of thelr Members are Trustees of Uckfield Foodbank. I report to the charity Trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2022.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the Trustees of the charity (and its directors for the purposes of company law) you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (’the 2011 Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act. In carrying out my examination I have followed the Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe:

accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the 2011 Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records; or
-
3 the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view’ which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
This report is made solely to the charity's Trustees, as a body, in accordance with Part 4 of the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008. My work has been undertaken so that I might state to the charity’s Trustees those matters I am required to state to them in an independent examiner's report and for no other purpose.
