## **Uckfield Foodbank** **Trustees’ Report for the year April 2020 to March 2021** **Uckfield Foodbank commenced operation in September 2013 and was established as a** Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in August 2013. It is registered with the Charity Commission as Charity No. 1153505. The main address for contact is: 15 Horsted Square Bellbrook Industrial Estate Uckfield East Sussex TN22 1QG Tel: 01825 745489 Email: admin@uckfield.foodbank.org.uk Website: www.uckfield.foodbank.org.uk Facebook: facebook.com/uckfieldfoodbank Twitter: @uckfieldfoodbnk The Trustees are: Peter Roe (Chair) Ian Noble Philip Garland Simon Harriyott Richard Burt (October 2020) ## **The objects of the CIO are** The prevention or relief of poverty in Uckfield and surrounding areas, with the support of the Churches in Uckfield, in particular but not exclusively by: - a) providing emergency food boxes containing three day’s supply of balanced and nutritional foodstuffs to individuals in need and/or for distribution by charities or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty; - b) the provision of or signposting to relevant information and other advisory services ## **Review of Activities during the year to carry out those purposes (for the public benefit)** We have a team of 57 volunteers, excluding our Trustees, and, whilst some have had to take a break due to shielding, all are very supportive of our charity and keen to return as soon as possible. During the 2020-2021 year we saw an 86% increase in the number of food boxes given out and a 28% increase in the amount of food donations. We also saw a large increase in financial giving. We are very thankful to those individuals and organisations who make regular or one-off donations. We receive regular donations through Virgin Money Giving totalling £15722.90. We received a total of **24978** Kg of food donated during the year. This was an increase of 28% on last year. Tesco National Weekend Collection took place in November and provided us with 851kgs of stock. The 2020 Harvest was greatly reduced during the pandemic but we still received 1019kgs from some schools. Our annual stock take took place on 25[th] January 2021. There was 1691.64 kg in stock, valued at £2841.96. This financial year we fulfilled 1514 vouchers, feeding a total of 2851 people, 1272 of them children. This was an increase of 86% in the number of people fed and of 92% in the number of children.
