The trustees who served during the period are set out on page 1. The trustees are appointed by consensus of members of Grantham Muslim Community. ## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES** A. The advancement of the Islamic religion by providing a designated place of worship for Muslim residents be they male, female, young, elderly or disabled. B. The promotion of education by such means as appropriate including working with the local council, schools and other local organisations to deliver education. C. The promotion of health by providing information and raising awareness on a wide range of issues affecting people's health and safety. D. The promotion of religious harmony for the benefit of the public in particular by providing education and information on Islam and social issues for both Muslims and non-Muslims. E. The provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interest of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life of the said inhabitants ## **ACHIEVEMENTS, PERFOMRANCE** The trustees consider that the charity has had a satisfactory year, Donations collected have been used to meet the charity's objectives, in particular for the promotion of education. The Sleaford Front building work has been completed and it is being used for prayers and social gatherings. There is still ongoing work carried out to the back section with the money held in unrestricted reserves. The Grantham Community have also been able to get a building to use as their community centre and are trying to complete the initial phase to enable the building for its intended use. ## **FINANCIAL REVIEW** Some of Sleaford branch's reserve brought forward were used to fund the repairs and maintenance in respect of the place of worship as mentioned above. Overheads are minimal and all expenses made supported the charity's objectives. ## **RESERVES POLICY** Reserves are held in current accounts of accessibility. ## **PUBLIC BENEFIT REPORTING** The trustees confirm that they have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the Association's aims and objectives and planning future activities. DR S AJUMAL** **Date :** Page 3 ## **GRANTHAM MUSLIM COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION** ## **CHARITY NUMBER: 1153394** ## **TRUSTEES' ANNUAL REPORT** ## **YEAR ENDED 5 APRIL 2021** ## **REPORT OF THE INDEPENDENT EXAMINERS TO THE TRUSTEES OF GRANTHAM MUSLIM COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION** I report on the financial statements of the Charity for the year ended 5 April 2021 which comprise the Income and Expenditure Accounts and Balance Sheet. ## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner** As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements; you consider that the audit requirement of section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 ('the Act') does not apply. It is my responsibility to state, on the basis of procedures in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners under section 43(7)(b) of the Act, whether particular matters have come to my attention. ## **Basis of independent examiner's report** My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the financial statements presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items and disclosures in the financial statements and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters.
