It employs 4 people Full time Project Manager who oversees the day to day activities of the Charity Full time contracted CAB worker Part Time Strategic Officer working with Agencies and doing training a part time Driver. The charity works with the Thll Thtst a national charity in the alleviation of food poverty primarily in the UK and accordingly we work according to the Thissell Thist principles and practices. The new Trustees were cruited last year and have settled down well in their roles. The Thistees have integrated well adding their speciflc skill sets to the knowledge and running of the Charity. its activities are as slated in its charity objectives and are as follows:_ TO ASSIST PERSONS PRIMARILY IN ATHERTON, TYLDESLEY, LEIGH AND rrs SURROUNDING AREAS OR IN OTHER PARTS OF THE UK WHO ARE IN CONDrrioNS OF HARDSHIPAND DISTRESS IN SUCH WAYS AS THE TRUSTEES FROM TIME TO TIME THINK F, IN PARTICULAR Birr NOT EXCLUSIVELY. BY THE PROVISION OF FOOD ID ENSURE A HEALTHY AND NUTRITIOUS DIET DURING A PERIOD OF CRISIS WHERE THEY COULD NOT OTHERWISE OBTAIN FOOD TO EAT. In tenns of achievements sufficient funds have been maintained to cover the running of the charity for at least another 3 yea. Secondly sufficient forxl has been available throughout the whole of the year to enable us to give out a minimum of 3 days worth of meals for each and every family member who have been in food crisis. We currently still have a large stock of in date food to supply to our clients. In the twelve months we gave out a rninimum of 3 days food to 2531Adults and 1493 Children 16 years and under. This related to collections and donations totslling 52 tonnes whilsi th"stributing 47 tonnes of food leaving a warehouse stock balance of 22 tonnes ai 31103125 Also various iiems of personal. hygiene. baby products and dothing plus OCGlonaI tents and dothing were also provided. A signifiGint further improvement in the services offered has been the change to a Financial Inclusion Hub financed by ThSell Thist where services from Citizens Advice and CAP (Debi and other welfare lsnce) have been available. During this plst twelve months the National Government has continued to hand out signifiGint amounts of money to local
government to assist with I1 welfare initiatives. In our area, as last year, food vouchers have been provided in order to visit local social fo(MJ mad(et enterprises and this nY have caused the drop in the requirement of our Foodbank Services. This resulted in a decr&ise of approximately 17% but signifiGantly almost a 23% fall with regard to children. This may be as a result of panty vouchers and school breakfast clubs. With regard to the Financial Inclusion Hub the Fo(MJbank has been successful in bein8 awarded a further grant in order to offer Citizens Advice availability at every Distribution Centre location over a S day week. Furthernkore another grant has been awarded the Focthth to employ a Strategic Support Officer sometimes known as Relationship Manager in olller to promote the ethos of the FOodk with all our Agencies and working pae. Many visits were made io local schools, youth organisations and faith groups explaining why the need for a Foodbth, what the Foodbank does and how these groups can help the Foodbank. During the past twelve months 203 Foodbth clients sought in house advice for 651 independent issues. The Financial gains for these clients is over £268,OlJ). As stated we are in a healthy financial situation with sufficient reserves to cover all current potenual liabilities such as renL gas and electriciry and all other contracts. This indudes a new 3 year lease for warehouse prernises signed in December 2024 starting on January 1" 2025. In tern of impact for the 2025r2026 year we expect to see a continued lower take-up of Foodbank Food crisis situations bui an increase in Financial Hub activities. Our costs will also be increasing next year with new warehouse lease costs and the driver now going full time. However new funding frotn local companies will cover these increases for this coming financial year. D W HUGHES TRUSTEE
