In planning the activities of the Trust, the Trustees keep in mind the Charity Commissions guidance on public benefit.
Following compelling reports on the work done to date and the benefits conferred by the money donated by NCCT, the Trustee’s agreed to continued support for a number of core projects. Specifically, the Trustees reaffirmed that there would be:
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)
a 3 year commitment to Friends International Cambodia and a monthly debit for Mission to Seafarers. Additionally, an annual donation of variable amounts to:
- one of our 2 Antarctic charities (UKAHT / SGHT) - SEED (Madagascar) - The National Trust for Scotland - Future Hope (India) - RACE (Aldabra),
In addition, the Trustees worked hard to find, build relationships with and complete due diligence on a number of new projects in areas where we think our donors will support.
Ongoing fundraising efforts in the field have continued successfully thanks to the generous support of Noble Caledonia Limited’s clients.
Additionally, a new initiative was set up during this period where a Noble Caledonia tour, “Great Houses and Gardens of North Yorkshire”, was launched specifically to raise money for NCCT.

Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
As noted above, NCCT continued with our regular contributions to SEED (Madagascar), UKAHT (Antarctic), SGHT (South Georgia), Friends International (Cambodia), and Mission to Seafarers (UK).
In addition, NCCT’s new projects included sponsoring an applicant from Madagascar to undertake a professional guiding course in South Africa. This applicant went on to take these guide skill teachings to his team across Madagascar. Other new projects supported included the Manta Trust in the Maldives, the Orangutan Foundation International Australia and a new charity in support of Ukraine, the Unity of the Unbreakables, which provides generators to hospitals, schools and communities where power plants have been damaged by the war. We also made a sizeable donation to fund a special ranger for the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust who, among all his usual tasks, specializes in mental health and wellbeing and getting folks out into nature with him to work outdoors which is mutually beneficial.
NCCT also continues to fundraise for the RACE project in Aldabra, while holding onto the funds until the project begins.
