The trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity. The
board met as required during the year to review charitable activitie5, oversee the stewardship of
funds, and ensure that the charity continued to operate in furthera nce of its charitable purposes.
Structure, Governance and Management
Flegain Foundation 15 governed by its constitution. The trustees are appointed in accordance with the
provisions of that governing document and are selected with regard to their commitment to the
charity's aims, integrity, and ability to contri bute relevant skills, experience and community
knowledge.

New trustees are provided with an introduction to the charity's objects, its cu rrent activities,
governance expectations, and key operational procedures. Trustees are made aware of their legal
duties under charity13w, including their duty to act only in the best interest5 of the charity and to
ensure that charitable funds are properly applied.
The charity Is run primarily by volunteer trustees and volunteers. There were no paid employees
during the year. Day-to-day delivery of activities relied heavily on volunteers and trusted local
contacts in areas where support was provided.
Objectives
The objectives of the charity are to advance education, vocational training and scholarships,. advance
the Christian faith for the public benef it; relieve poverty and hardship,- and advance health and
wellbeing. particularly among communities experiencing deprivation or crisis.
The trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit
when planning activities and setti ng priorities for the year. The charity's work is d irected towards the
wider community, with 3 particular focus on vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals and families in
N igeria and other areas of need.
The public benef it delivered by the charity includes the provision of food relief, practical support to
local schools, financial assistance towards medicines and healthcare access, support to churches and
community groups, and assistance to local farmers and market women whose livelihoods are
affected by hardship.
Aims and Activities
During the year, the trustees, principal aims were to:
advance education and vocational opportunities through outreach and support for schools and
community learning,.
advance the Christian faith for the public benefit through prattical support to Ioc31 churches and
mission-re13ted activities,.
relieve poverty and hardship through food distribution, relief support and direct assistance to
vulnerable individuals and families,.
promote health and wellbeing by contributing towards medicines and support for hospitals and
related community health needs.
In pursuit of these aims, the charity undertook a range of prartical interventions during the year.
These included supporting schools, funding medicines and medical su pport for hospitals, distributing
food to individuals and families in need, and providing assistance through local contacts and
community networks in area5 affected by hardship.
The charity also continued developing and strengthening its outreach in Africa, including support for
local markets, missionary-related activities, and practical assistance to communities facing economic
pressure or insecurity. The trustees remained mindful of the importance of ensuring that support
reached genuine beneficiaries and that funds were used for charitable purposes.

Achievements and Performance
The trustees consider the year to have been one of mean ingful charitable activity despite logistical
and operational challenges. The charity continued to provide relief and support through modest but
targeted interventions, particularly in areas where small-scale funding could make an immediate
difference to households and local communities.
Key achievements during the year included..
food distribution programmes in two states during key periods, including festive-period relief
and cash-based support where appropriate;
support for local churches and educational outreach, helping community institutions continue to
serve vulnerable groups.
ongoing monthly relief to market women and loca I farmers, helping sustain livelihoods and
reduce immediate hardship.
The trustees received feedback through reports, loca l updates, informal testimonies, publicity
materials, and direct accounts f rom those involved in the delivery of support. Although the charity
does not yet operate a fully formalised impact measurement framework, trustees monitored
outcomes through community reports, photographs, local verification, and follow-up communication
where possible.
Examples of impact during the year included relief materials reaching families during periods of
acute hardship, support to hospitals and hea Ith-related institutions through f unding for medicines,
and practical support that enabled local community groups and churches to continue serving people
in need.
The trustees recognise that f urther development of record-keeping, beneficiary tracking and formal
reporting will help strengthen future impact assessment, and this remains an area for continued
improvement.
Volunteers
The charity relied signif icantly on volunteers during the year. Approximately 10 volu nteers assisted
the charity on an as-needed basis. Volunteers supported food d istribution, beneficiary identification,
logistics. local publicity and the practical coordination of relief activities.
The trustee5 are grateful for the commitment and generosity of volunteers whose local knowledge
and will ingness to serve were essential to the charity's ability to deliver support effectively and
economically.
Fundraising Activities
The charity's income during the year was derived primarily from donations and supporter
contributions. The charity did not receive any major grant f unding during the year and did not
undertake significant formal fundraising campaigns or events.

The trustees continue to seek sustainable growth in voluntary income through increased awareness,
supporter engagement and community promotion. Where fundraising is undertaken, the trustees
seek to ensure that it is proportionate, ethical and consistent with the charity's values.
No fundraising complaints were received during the year. The trustees are mindful of the charitvs
obligations i n relation to f undraising practice and donor stewardship.
Financial Review
The attached receipts and payments accounts set out the charity's f inancial position for the year in
detail. As the charity's gross income for the year was below £250,000, the trustees intend to use the
Charity Commission's CC16a form alongside this Trustees, Annual Report.
The trustees have continued to manage resources carefully, seeking to maximise the proportion of
funds applied directly to charitable activities. Expenditure has been focused on relief, support
programmes and associated delivery costs.
The trustees review the charity's f inancial position regularly and consider cash flow and liquidity
when approving charitable commitments. At the date of approval of this report, the trustees are
satisfied that the charity remains a going concern and is able to continue its activities for the
foreseeable future, subject to the continued support of donors and volunteers.
Total income for the year- £51,589
Total expenditure for the year.. £41,950
Net movement in funds.. £9,639
Cash / bank balances at year end: £9,639
Reserves Policy
The trustees recognise the importance of maintaini ng an appropriate level of reserves to ensure
continuity of charitable activities, meet short-term commitments, and respond to urgent need5 or
unforeseen circumstances.
At present, the trustees aim to hold a modest level of unrestricted reserves, where possible,
equivalent to approximately 3 months of normal operating expenditure. Given the charity's size and
income profile, this is i ntended to provide a prudent buffer while ensuring that the majority of f unds
are applied to charitable purposes in a timely manner.
The trustees will continue to review the reserves policy annually in light of the charity's growth,
funding patterns and operational risks.
Risk Management
The trustees have considered the principal ri5k5 and uncertainties facing the charity. As a small
charity operating with volunteer 5UPPOrt and overseas delivery arrangement5, the key risks include
identifying genuine beneficiaries, ensuring that funds and relief reach intended recipients,
maintaining appropriate oversight of Ioc31 volunteers and contacts, and managing the practical
challenges of transferring funds and verifying their use.

To mitigate these risks, the trustees use local knowledge, seek additional supervision and verification
where possi ble, undertake follow-up checks, and may use trusted third parties to assist with delivery
and rnonitoring. The trustees also recognise the need to continue strengthening governance,
documentation and controls as the charity develops.
Future Plans
The trustees, priorities for the next 12 months include..
increasing fundraising capacity and broadening the charity's supporter base,.
expanding support for schools in disrep31r and providing more structured crisis-relief materials-
continuing support for Af rican communities facing hardship, including those affected by
migration and immigration-related difficulties;
exploring the development of food distribution initiative5 in the UK where consistent with the
charit¢5 objects and availa ble resources;
developing mentorship and vocational / NVQ-style training initiatives in the UK, with a view to
extending suitable models internationally over time.
The trustees expect that increased visibility and promotion may assist with fundraising in the coming
year. However, the charity remain5 mindful of the need to grow in a controlled and well-governed
way, ensuring that systems and oversight keep pace with any increase in activity.
Statement of Trustees. Responsibilities
The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Annual Report and the f inancial statements
in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom accounting standards, insofar as applicable to
the charity's reporting framework.

statements for each financial year which Eive a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity
and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that period.

observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP appl icable to the charitvs reporting
ba51S,'

state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material
departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements.
prepare the f inancia I statements on the going concern basis unless it is in3ppropriate to

The trustee5 a re responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasona ble
accuracy at any time the f in3ncial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the f inancial
statements comply with the Charities Act 2011. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets
of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of f raud and
other irregularities.
