The Trust Deed restricts the use of the Charity's income, such that it must be applled solely towards the objects of the Charity. Tax status The Charity is exempt from corporation tax and income lax. Whilst the charity is slill in its early stag¢s of growth, the trustees propose to get to a level. over the medium terni, to maintain the charity's reserves at a level which is ai least equivalent to 12 months operational expenditure. The trustees review the amount of reserves that are required to ensure that they are adequate to fulfil the charity's continuing obligations on a quarterly basis at their finance meeting. Accounts Preparation The Trustees confirn) that the accounts comply with current statutory requirements and with those of the governing instrument. GIVING IZ LIVING Notes to the Financial Statements for the year ended 31" March 2023 Accountin Policies The Accounts have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice "Accounting by Charities" Restricted and unrestrict¢d funds Funds received by the charity that are earn]arked either by donation or by the temis of the grant for particular projects are accounted for as restricted funds. All other funds are unreslricted. On ompletion or closure of specific projects any remaining ￿ndS are transferred to the unrestricted fund. Income Donations and income from fundraising activities are accounted for on a receipts basis. Volun hel and ifts in kind The charity benefits from many voluntary hours contributed by Trustees and supporters. It would be impossible lo plac¢ a value on all the hard work & gifts in kind for which the charity is extremely grateful and without which much of its work could not be undertaken. enditure All expenditure is included in the statement of financial activilies on a payments basis with the exception of specific sizeable accruals or prepayments and has been classified under categories which most appropriately reflect the use of the resources. Respective As the charity's Trustees you are responsible for ihe preparation of Responsibilities of the accounts. you consider that the audit requirement of Section Trustees and Examiner 43{2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act) does nol apply. It is my responsibility to state on Ihe basis of procedures specified in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners under Section 43(7)(b) of the Act, whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of Indcpendent Examiner's Report My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts prescnted with those records. 11 also includes Consideration of any unusual item5 or disclosure5 in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not PTovide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
