## Activities

**Objects:** (1) TO PREVENT CRIME, IMPROVE PUBLIC SAFETY AND PUBLIC ORDER AND TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT THE HEALTH OF THE PUBLIC IN PARTICULAR BY PROMOTING THE EFFICIENT DELIVERY OF FIRE AMD COMMUNITY SAFETY PROGRAMMES AND INITIATIVES. (2) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN PARTICULAR BY PROMOTING AND RAISING AWARENESS IN COMMUNITY SAFETY AND FIRE SAFETY ISSUES THAT AFFECT THE PUBLIC IN THEIR EVERYDAY LIVES. (3) TO PROMOTE GOOD CITIZENSHIP AND CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PROMOTING GREATER PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN FIRE AND COMMUNITY SAFETY PROGRAMMES AND INITIATIVES. (4) TO DEVELOP THE CAPACITY AND SKILLS OF MEMBERS OF SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY ARE BETTER ABLE TO IDENTIFY, AND HELP MEET THEIR NEEDS AND TO PARTICIPATE MORE FULLY IN SOCIETY. SAFE SOUTH WEST WILL OPERATE PRIMARILY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THOSE COMMUNITIES IN THE GEOGRAPHICAL BOUNDARIES OF THE SOUTH WEST OF ENGLAND.

**Activities:** WE WORK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH DEVON & SOMERSET FIRE & RESCUE SERVICE / LOCAL COMMUNITES ON COMMUNITY SAFETY. OUR WORK INCLUDES, FIRE PREVENTION, ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR E.G FIRESETTING, COMMUNITY RESILIENCE AND SAFE DRIVING. WE PROVIDE ADVICE AND EXPERTISE, MAKE GRANTS TO LOCAL GROUPS IN NEED, RAISE FUNDING, ASSIST OTHER GROUPS TO RAISE FUNDING AND HELP TRAIN AND EDUCATE YOUNG PEOPLE AND OTHERS.
