REPORT) (CONTINUED) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2024 Recwitment and appointment of tnjstees Governor Recruitment and Training The Goveming body requires b￿adth and depth of experience to cary out its duties effectwely and efficiently. When re¢ruiting new Trustees and Govemors the important attribute is a passion for the work of our School and an understsnding of education as a holistic and rounded experience of personal growth. We advertise Socally and through our connections for new Governors. We also invite senior Anglo-scandinavian business people to consider joining our board. Where possible the Govemors consider that the skills and experience of the Board should comprise the following: A Govemor wth a business background. A Governor with a financiallaccounting background. A Govemor with education experience. A Govemor wlh senior managerial experience. A Govemor with experience of equal opportunities or disabilty needs. At least one female Governor and at least one male Governor. One Govemor may have one or more of these skills. The results for the year and the financial position at the year-end were considered satisfactory by the ttustees. The Governors, amongst whom three are also the charity trustees, a￿ responsible for the overall management and control of London Scandinavian School Ltd and meet a minimum of eight times a year. The Govemors work under the chairnianship of Alex Kahn. Chair of the Board. Emily Bridges is responsible for overseeing the financial management of the school. All trustees glve of their time freely and no remuneration or expenses were paid in the period. wyth the exception of Emily Bridges who ￿ceiVeS fees for her work on the board of govemors. Aside from this. no Governor or person connected with a Govemor received any benefit from either means tested bursaries or scholarships awarded to our pupils. Organisational structure Organisational Management The Govemors detemiine the general policy of the School. The day to day running of the School is delegated to the Head, supported by senior staff. The Headmaster undertakes the key leadership role overseeing educational, pastoral and administrative functions in consultation with the senior stsff. The day to day administration of the School is undertaken within the policies and procedures approved by the Govemors. which provide for only signfficant expenditure decisions and major capital projects to be referred to the Govemors for prior approval. The Headteacher oversees the recruitment of all educational slaff, administrative and non-tea¢hing support stsff. The Head is invited to attend Govemors. meetings. The trustees acknowledge their responsibilities for ensuring that the Charity keeps accounting records which comply with section 386 of the Act and for preparing financial statements which give a true and fair vsew of the state of affairs of the company as at the end of the financial year and of its incoming resources and application of resources, including its income and expenditure, for the financial year in accordance with the requirements ot sections 394 and 395 and which otherwise comply with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 relating to financial statements, so far as applicable to the company.
