The Charity was formed on the 22[nd] July 2013 and this was its 9th year of operation. 

The current Trustees are:

The Trustees communicated by electronic means during the year, to monitor the operation of the **Swindon Viewpoint** service and advance the aims of Community Media locally. 

Our ability to carry out our usual level of activity has continued to be affected by the pandemic. Our work with community groups and individuals, on issues of importance to them, primarily involves meetings and social contact, which were either not possible or seen as risky by potential participants as well as ourselves. Many groups have not returned to indoor meetings and are meeting online. 

Our activity therefore has necessarily focussed more on social media. Without much new programming we have taken the opportunity to redistribute strong programming from some years back. This has proven popular, and helps maintain an interest in the service as well as the wider community and its social and cultural life. 




We were able to cover a small number of events which were based outdoors. A number of archive films were restored, digitised and again made available to the public, these included historic footage of the development of the town. 

Our main source of funding over the past few years has been from DVD sales of the Films ' **Railway Town** ' and ' **Fire and Stee** l' and income from this source has been substantial, but is now very much reduced (as more and more interested people have already purchased them, and fewer people these days use DVD). We also raised nearly **£3000** through sale of TV rights of excerpts from our archive films during this year. To achieve best results we need to emphasise further funding initiatives, however. 

One aspect that remains particularly crucial is to raise the funding to rebuild our website www.swindonviewpoint.com. This is now more than fifteen years old, built on an obsolete platform (Drupal) and no longer functions correctly (when it does at all). We are therefore primarily distributing via other platforms at present (Vimeo, Facebook, Twitter).
