LGBT Out in the Bay REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES The Trustees present their annual report for the year ended 1 April 2025. 1. Le al and Administrative Information The Charity 15 known as LGBT Out in the Bay. It is a registered charity, with the registered number of 1153064. The Charity is governed by a constitution dated 24 July 2013 and its objectives are to promote equality and diversity for LG8T community within the areas of Morecambe and Lancaster, Lancashire. The Trustees have asked Mr Damien Sissons of Waters & Atkinson to act as the Independent Examiner under the Charities Act 2011 . 2. Trustees The Trustees in office at the end of the year were as follows.. All trustees have read the Charity Commission guidance and all are involved in running the charity within the compliance of the Charity Commission. 3. Activities During the 2024-2025 financial year, LGB T Out in the Bay continued to deliver a broad range of support sernices and community activities for LGBT+ people across Lancaster, More¢ambe and the wider Bay area. The organisation focused on reducing isolation. improving wellbeing. and supporting some of the most marginalised LGBT+ individuals, particularly young people. Core activities during the year included.. .Delivery of regular LGBT+ youth groups (ages 11-18 and 18-25) .One-lo-one support and counselling .Community social groups, including arts, crafts and peer-support sessions .Ongoing organisalional development, safeguarding, and volunteer support Demand for services remained high throughout the year. reflecting continued pressures relaled to housing insecurity, mental health, and the cost-of-living Crisis. Income during the year was generated through a combination of grants, Pride events, fundraising activities, and donations, and was used primarily lo support staffing. venue costs, safeguarding, and direct service delivery. 4. Pollcies a) Risk Management The Trustees regularly review Ihe major risks associated with the charity and have developed an action plan to minimise and effectively manage those risks. Due to this being an LGB T+ ¢harily we continually are needing lo improve security and monitor data protection in order to manage the risks to our members. Continued.............................. Morecambe town council, Thermos Fisher, Red Rose Recovery, Lancaster University, University of Cumbria, funded by uk government, Lancashire victims seNices, The Calico Group, Lancashire fire seryices, Lancaster Bid and Lancaster Brewery.11 is the intention of the Trustees that the funds received and raised are used for the good of the LGBT+ community. We held a reserve of £2,485 al the year end. 5. Financial Review Being a small Charity, the accounts have been prepared on the basis of amounts received and paid during the year. The Statement of Assets and Liabilities lon page 41 does however show the amounts owed lo, and owing by the Charity al the end of the year. The Board of Trustees closely monitor spending and income streams on a day lo day basis and these are also reviewed at the AGM. 6. Achievements and Performance During the last year we have continued to provide the housing project for 18-25s for LGBTQ+ people called No Labelz. Our LGB T Out in the Bay project has seen a rise in demand for counselling and 1-2-1 support work - keeping up with demand has been a struggle. We are continuing with our community project- currently supplying anyone wilh free breakfast and a brew. Lancaster and Morecambe Prides were delivered with success. We have sought out more partners lo work with us, which makes us more robust in challenging limes. Once again we have raised money to support the projects. Vve now need to be more strategic and open lo new ways ofworking. 7. Non-dlsclosure of ke ersonnel detalls Due lo this being an LGBT+ charity and some hate we received at Morecambe Pride and an increased hate within society for our broader family- we now resérvè the right lo withhold personal information.
