## **Aims and Objectives 2021 – 2022**
## **Aims**
1. Investment for long-term financial security in order to purchase more land for rewilding and our eco-therapy project
2. Expand the care in the local community with organic growing, the countryside, walking, animals and mental health positivity (eco-therapy) 3.Re-home animals with home-checks and education essential with regards to the policy of the charity
## **Objectives**
1. Increase awareness regarding the organic community programme we run which includes eco-therapy especially for those who are vulnerable and isolated locally
2. Improve website for educational purposes – a place to go to for advice on eco-therapy (‘ÕMindÕÕ charity source)
3. Fundraising – looking at grants specifically for our new vision incorporating the environment, wildlife and animals

**General**
Forget-Me Not animal rescue (FMNAR) is a very small animal rescue run by two volunteers who live at the rescue and a number of volunteers who either come and help ad hoc or on a weekly basis, usually the weekends.
FMNAR is managed by the two individuals who live on site, Sarah and Paul. They manage the day-to-day care of the animals, re-homing, maintenance of the site and they also respond to enquiries via the website and emails usually about re-homing but often about animal care or an animal that needs urgent help. We have a number of other local contacts if the help needed is specialised.
Sarah has the responsibility for developing the new aspect of the charity mentioned in the aims and objectives of this report, namely eco-therapy.
## **- Eco therapy volunteers**
Last year we looked at ‘recruitingÕ local people to help at the rescue, we now have a regular 11 people who attend our eco-therapy sessions. Some are happy to be a part of a group others come along by themselves. The organic vegetable garden is the focus of our work but we always let our volunteers choose the area they would like to work in, which can change from visit to visit. To provide this ‘green spaceÕ is invaluable along with the peace and quiet and the animals we rescue; the people who come here find peace in this busy technological world.
The difficulty, ironically, is our remoteness and parking still is an issue. We do car share which has helped but it isnÕt always practical, thatÕs why new land or maybe relocation is the answer. We need to discuss this again in January 2023 when we will decide what the next stage will be.

## **- Re homing**
Re-homing has gone well this year with the number of rabbits re-homed going up. We shall continue to work with Warrington Animal Welfare regarding rabbits and guinea pigs – the link with them is useful and has proven to be successful with a number of people from the North of Wales and the North West who contact us going to this rescue after contacting us, if we do not have, for example, a female rabbit to bond with their male rabbit.
## **Finances**
We had been given a £30,000 grant from the Idris and Margaret Green Charitable Trust to help us buy land to protect from housing developments. When we find suitable land this will be a rewild project looking at wildflower meadows, native tree planting, building a pond and a new site for our eco-therapy projects.
A long-term supporter has pledged to match the £30,000 but we still have some way to go before we reach our target of £150,000. Various grants are in the pipeline but this takes time to achieve. We are quietly confident that we will achieve a new premises which will protect the species in the U.K. that are dwindling at a frighteningly speedy
momentum, we want and need to do our bit to protect the U. K's precious ecosystems. Once they are taken by housing they can NEVER be replaced and this concerns us greatly.
## **Concluding statement from the Chair:**
The shift away from our main aim of rescuing animals has not been taken lightly. Although we will continue to rescue and re home this will be done on a far smaller scale. We will always give advice to those that contact us and never turn an animal away that needs our help.

The new phase that we are entering is an exciting development and one that will will monitor carefully over the next few years. The purchase of new land to protect and use for our eco-therapy project remains our priority at present.
We will apply for a change of name and constitution, to the Charity Commission. This will hopefully be in effect by the time we meet in January 2023 and will be recorded in the minutes for the next meeting. We decided not to include specifics in this report as the change will occur in our new financial year.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Forget-Me-Not Animal
Rescue (the Charity} forthe year ended 31" October 2022,
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the Charity you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 20111'the Art'l.
I report in respect of my examination of the Charity's account5 carried out under
section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all
the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 14515llbl of
the Act.
Independent examiner's statemert
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matter5 have come to
my attention in connection with the examination givin8 me cause to believe that in
any material respect:
l. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section
130 of the Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records,. or
3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the
form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports)
Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair
view which 15 not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the
examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a
proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
